Well judging by the quote from his own mouth, he has particular interest on what is said on Tigerdroppings

I'm sorry, but any player that takes what people say on message boards seriously is someone who is mentally weak.

The posters on here make up an extremely small % of the total fanbase.

If he thinks Bama doesn't berate players too, he must not have access to any Bama boards.

Saban's too smart to say he wants him at safety. Just like he told the other safeties this year that he wanted them at different positions so he could get all 3. He lies to get what he wants. Just like every guy they recruit for the front 7 is told they'll play Jack LB.

It's always been assumed that he would be recruited as a S. Some, including myself, just feel that he's too special with the ball. His speed dictates S. The coaches will recruit him at WR if he wants to play WR.

He is not the next Landon Collins in any facet. Only thing he could have similar to Collins is that he may go to Bama. Difference is that we are playing catch up to Bama from the beginning. I'm personally still not convinced he'll have a commitable offer from Bama. Might be much ado about nothing. He'll likely get an offer as a show of interest but that doesn't mean he can commit whenever he wants.

No it hasnt. He'll get the chance to play whatever he wants. He's too good with the ball to play safety and he ran a 4.48 at lsu's camp last year according to Sonny Shipp. Thats plenty fast.

Sorry to disagree but this young man is a teenager and will not, in all likelihood, process the information the way a "mature adult" would. To call him "mentally weak" is a mistake. He will not hear from the silent majority, the large percentage of the LSU fanbase. So he will draw an unbalanced view of the entire fanbase based on the weighted sample on TD.

Well i did read the tweets and i just dont see how a person could get excited about LSU loosing if your heart is here. He was clowing people and telling them they were silly for wanting LSU to win. I just think his recruitment is gonna be alot like LC's. He wants the attention.

I think this guy is a great player and it would be awesome to have him in Purple and Gold. That being said, however, I don't see how ANY Louisiana high school football player who has pride in his state and a strong interest in attending LSU could EVER root for Bama in the NCG and make the comments that he did.

If I were the coaches, I would say, "Young man, we would REALLY love to have you represent your state, your family, and friends, and be a Tiger. You have a standing offer and can commit at any time. That being said, we aren't going to have another Landon Collins situation. We will be happy to answer any questions you have, show you everything you need to see regarding LSU facilities, academics, etc., but the truth is, the answer is in your heart, and we want players that WANT to represent Louisiana and LSU. There is no reason that LSU should have to fight tooth and nail for a Louisiana recruit, because if we do, we're wasting our time because he's probably not a recruit that wants to be here in the first place.

I am glad that the coaches did not that that position with Marquise Hill, Ryan Perrilloux, Al Jones, Chad Jones, Rueben Randle, Jermauria Rasco, etc.

I think many do but he really doesn't own up to it. Look at what the next sentence was:

quote:

"Some guys on Tiger Droppings (an LSU message board) got a hold of it, and it was kind of a big controversy where everyone was saying that's where I was going, and the story kind of blew up.

"People called me asking me about it, but I'm not gonna make my decision off of that. That's just who I was going for in that game."

As far as whether he'll play offense or defense, I like him at safety but nobody has seen very much of him playing receiver since his freshman year.

Here is the highlight tape from the 2009 championship. He is #13.

He scores playing receiver at about 3:20 then he has an interception on the very next highlight. That INT makes me think he'd be a great safety or receiver. He also scores on a long pass play down the right sideline on the next highlight. On the INT he plays the tip perfectly and on the second TD he goes up and gets the ball over a defender.

It's crazy that this is a team championship highlight and a freshman makes these plays.

I really think he'll be good wherever he goes. I hope it's LSU but even his quotes in this article sound similar to the LC "set up" quotes.

I agree, his initial reaction won't be the mature response and that's understandable. But that's why he has family and coaches around to keep him grounded. Hopefully they make him understand that he'll have haters wherever he goes. Shep's mom said it best, "if you don't have any haters, that probably means you haven't done anything."

FYI...I'd love to have this kid.

he's just trying to build up enough attention to get high ratings and get All Star game invites and attention.

Exactly, and in my opinion it is all at LSU's expense. I don't have any problem at all with kids leaving the state. If that is what they want then I wish them the best. I just don't like when they purposely drag it out just to put the spotlight on themselves.

I think I'd intimate that it will be better for him and for LSU to not have the amount of drama as occurred in the LC situation. That way he can go on with his life and not have to endure the reaction that LC did after stringing out LSU.

If Les is the straight shooter so many of us hope he is, it would be appropriate to explain how it would be better for both parties to not drag the process out if he has made up his mind.

I'm usually not a Saban basher but I do think he orchestrates some of these recruiting situations to help keep other teams from maximizing their recruiting. He wants the competing school to waste their time on guys that have already told him they are coming. It's not illegal and other coaches like Kiffin do it, but it's still a dick move.

If the kids want Les to be honest with them, they need to be honest with him. Sure, they're just kids. This kind of stuff can be looked at as a kid just doing what a dick coach is asking him to do but it's still the kid being dishonest.

Devall handled going to Bama better than Landon. It seems like most people got over Devall already but Landon saying he didn't know and then acting the way he did during the commitment won't be forgotten.

If Louisiana kids dont appreciate what LSU has to offer that's their business. However, all sports fans in Louisiana will and should take notice and these kids that leave should also plan on making their home outside of La permanently.

They certainly don't have to but it would probably be more beneficial if they did.

All you guys who think Diarse is a 4.8 40 guy are in for a rude awakening.
