A new thought

Somehow this helps me deal with the disappointment...
It occurred to me this evening, as I was running the whole Monday Night Monstrosity through my mind (again), that while Alabama won the game - if we can all see LSU wasn't really "in" the game mentally or emotionally from the start, and got caught with a crappy game plan and a coach who seemed to just shut down in the crunch, Nick Saban and many savvy Alabama fans could see it too.
So their victory just might have a bit of a hollow ring to it; they know they did not beat the real LSU, not the LSU playing its heart out and competing to the death. They beat a team sleepwalking, going through the motions, disconnected, a team that happened to be wearing LSU unis, but that's where the resemblance to the #1 LSU Tigers began and ended that night.
So savor that Bammers and Saban, if you can. You didn't beat the best we have to offer that night. Not by a long shot. But we beat you in Tuscaloosa, at home.

And to add to that we were only down by two touchdowns till the middle of the fourth quarter, which the way we played could have been worse. Up until then we one big play could have turned it around.

Yep...........those were not my Tigers!!! My Tigers have beaten Bama 2 of the last 3 timesand will avenge this loss in November on their way to Miami.
****Bama should have an asterisk next to their championship that says....2nd in the West, 3rd in the SEC, beaten at home by the team they beat in the BCSNCG. What a joke of a Season.

Maybe we should actually embrace the Gump ways. Wait until 2021 and just claim the 2011 National Championship as that guy in New Mexico voted LSU #1.

Don't have any more new thoughts..

So you're saying that on Monday LSU was at the top of its game?

Bottom line is we laid a humongous egg in
the biggest game of the year. Bama couldn't
care less if we were on top or bottom of our game.
Get over it and realize that "LSU coaching" is
our identity and what we are stuck with, for quite
awhile. What bothers me most is that some of our players' talent is somewhat squandered amidst poor coaching decisions (Shepard).
BTW: do you recall that when bama beat UT in NCG,
Texas had to play an inexperienced freshman QB after
McCoy went down. No asterisk there, either.

Your point about UA beating Texas after Colt went down having no asterisk? I disagree. Whenever I hear anything about that game on sports networks or by game announcers it is almost always prefaced by some comment about McCoy being injured and out of the game, Texas not being at full strength. If that's not an asterisk then what is? So don't be so quick to dismiss what I'm thinking here. In a few years this game will have its own asterisk too like "the Enigma Bowl" or something - where #1 LSU inexplicably self-destructed.

Maybe so, I just haven't heard Colt's injury mentioned relative to that game.
