He went to LSU and then Bama?
For someone named Phelon, he wasn't very convicted.

He was a four star CB from Mobile, al (Murphy maybe or Davidson, cant remember I am corrected it was MCGill) that was recruited by Chevis Jackson another CB from Mobile, (St Pauls) that was on the team at the time. His father was a high school coach and unofficial recruiter. He didn't pan out at LSU due to depth at that position and ask for transfer to Bama and Miles agreed to let him do this. He father was very appreciative of this fact, and to the best of my knowledge has never said anything but positive things about LSU and his experience here, nor has he to my knowledge.
Miles did a nice thing for the kid, and maybe one day it will pay dividends for us like it did for Bear Bryant all those years. As he used to say it doesn't cost you anything to be nice to people and treat them with respect.

McGill-Toolen.

I thought it was McGill intially, but dont remember his dad coaching there. Anyway, he didn't pan out for either school very well but nobody even Saban wanted to burn bridges with his dad and was a top rated high school player so no clue why it didn't work out. He may have gotten injured or something. seem to remember that.
