Was Les showing the fan base who is boss,by giving up in the fourth, instead of atleast trying Lee? Makes it hard to look forward for me.

im sure ill get roasted for this, but methinks that to an extent, it wasnt worth the risk of having Lee come in and actually get a few first downs and move the ball. Lee probably couldnt overcome that lead with that amount of time left anyhow... so why risk it?

It would invite tremendous criticism and would make Miles look like a fool for not playing him sooner and benching him to begin with, and he would be taking 10x the heat he is right now.

Legit experts would begin to question Miles decisions which would create uncertainty about his future. Its just easier to avoid all that.

Miles knew LSU would sink or swim with Jefferson.

There were no other options.

We sank.

If this is true (and I'm not saying it is -- a big part of me thinks the notion is beyond silly), wouldn't he essentially be letting the fans affect his decisions?

If you're not doing something solely to spite someone that means THAT SOMEONE is affecting your decisions.

If a fan could see the loss coming, so could Miles. He probably figured it wasn't worth it to appease the fanbase and put Lee in that spot.

Who the frick knows, though. I'm sure he's more worried about the $1M raise he just lost out on than he is about fan opinions.

I know I would be. $1M a year is a lot of money for anybody. I'd kill most of you in your sleep for a 26% raise over what I'm making right now.

So you want a head coach who factors in fan's opinions in his decision making? Really?
