it's going to be a shite show down there. I imagine the amount of people will rival Mardi Gras & it will be impossible to eat anywhere without waiting forever. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated to have a good meal without eating at a shite restaurant or waiting an hour for something good.

Cafe Maspero on Decatur and Toulouse.
Royal House on the corner of Royal and St. Louis for great Oysters without the crowd hassles.

If you think you can get into those places this weekend with no crowd hassles you are whistling Dixie.

You might do ok going out to Metairie but I'd be willing to bet they will be very busy as well.

Remember you not only have the LSU game you now have an NFL playoff game.

Your best bed downtown will be to try and get into the bar areas of restaurants right when they open for lunch or dinner, or catch them in between lunch and dinner.

I have eaten at Emerils bar before on a Friday and Saturday night early.

Antoines actually does a good job with their bar menu.

Maybe a place like Rio Mar at the bar right when they open.

I've officially become a BIG fan of Cochon's Butcher located behind Cochon. I would suggest the pork belly sandwich. Game changer. Bring a change of underwear.

Eat at off hours. Breakfast really early 7:00ish.
Try eating late lunch or early Dinner 2:00 to 4:00.

And make reservations when possible.

Let the concierge at the hotel work for their money.

You will have to buy a two drink minimum to find a bathroom to change in.

And yep, I'm a Butcher fan as well.

Hermes Bar at Antoines and also MILA would be good choices based on my experiences.

and wait an hour or 2

the line is ridiculous at 1pm on a tues, much less this weekend.

zealot, find a place or 2 that you can take out from. Bring it back to the room. old Mardi Gras trick. Unless you absolutely must sit down in the restaurant and eat.
