quote:Really?!?!
You continually post these statistical tables that compare apples and oranges.
quote:You didn't watch LSU football when Tyler, Davey, and Booty played, did you. Tyler and Davey had winning records. Booty was a major cause of his own problems. It's amazing what happened once Booty was no longer starting.
The talent level was way lower when Tyler, Davey, and Booty played at LSU. We were playing from behind a lot forcing the QBs to take chances.
Oh, and if you knew anything about football, you'd know that passing numbers tend to increase when a team is trailing. Just look at Lee's RS freshman year.
Booty's numbers suck. They do. His first year QB Rating is double digits. His career QB Rating is barely triple digits. His career completion percentage is below 50%. He never had a year above 50%.
Go peddle your Jefferson hatred elsewhere. Some people here, not many, but some, understand football, LSU football in particular, and the QB position.

I have been watching LSU football all of my life, and JJ is the least effective QB LSU has ever fielded as the primary QB for any significant stretch.
There are at least three QBs on the chart that are worse than Jefferson.
Oh, and please, let me add, you mad.

Man... I never stop being amazed at some of these posters. They see the stats and yet they still deny them.
I don't care if we won 15 games in a row. Jefferson is still an average QB at best. An acceptional athelete, but a forgettable QB.
I appreciate your work and it is refreshing to see it on the Rant.
I usually don't post much at all but I had to reply to this thread for both good and bad reasons.
Just think... Only ten more days and we won't have to worry about this quarterback situation anymore. They will both be gone. As for the future QB's? We'll have to wait and see how ole Les will screw that up as well.

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments. It is also sometimes colloquially used to doubt statistics used to prove an opponent's point.

But clearly Russell, Davey, Tyler, Mauck/Flynn, Randall, Lee/JJ, Booty.
And you have waaaaaaay too much time on your hands.

First, I have no hatred for JJ...never met him. I have however watched him lay more eggs on the football field than any QB in LSU history. He topped it off with a zero 1st down performance in the 1st half of the SECCG.
Secondly, there are many fans that post on this board that understand football and QB play. You apparently are not among them.
I would love to know what type of statistics JJ would have "amassed" had he played on one of our less talented teams, such as the ones that Booty and Rohan played on. Unfortunately, that is not possible, but I feel pretty secure in my prediction that he would not have fared well in comparison to either of them...especially Rohan.
