Anyone else think this was a bad movie? I saw the info on the Cox guide the other night which said a "post-apocalyptic world" which usually I'm in to. But the Postman (Kevin Coster) leads a revolution against the new Army of the US? It was disappointing to say the least.....

Yeah I guess Kevin Costner isn't meant to portray the post apocalypse world ever....Mel Gibson did better with the Mad Max series

Complete opposite IMO. Postman was worse than the reviews; Waterworld wasn't nearly as awful as the reviews.

Pretty sure this movie was universally panned.

Supposedly the book is better. I know that sounds like a shocker but that's what I hear.

Not in the least. The Postman is one of my favorite Costner films. But i'm really into the post apocalyptic stuff. I really like this movie.

And the "army" was more of a militia that ruled the local area through fear.

CRY HAVOC! And let slip the dogs of war!

I like The Postman. I don't understand the hate.

For some reason Kevin Costner went about 10 years or so with every critic trashing his movies. He must have done something to piss off the media machine. Movies like For the Love of the Game were hammered. I loved that movie though

I did not like Waterworld, though

Wyatt Earp was really good too.

ETA: I don't understand the hate towards him either.

I think it started with Wyatt Earp (which i loved, better than Tombstone), he had several long biopics come out right in a row, the critics hated them, they flopped at the box office, but to me...i liked them all. I like all of his biopics, except Waterworld, never seen it.

Costner has struck out on almost everything since JFK.

Maybe he is cursed....

The girl (woman) I'm crushing on fricked him when he was in town filming JFK. That's my reason.
