Tyrann Mathieu is the next Troy Polamalu

Troy Polamalu was all over the field last night, and I started focusing on just him. He and Tyrann have the same knack of always being around the ball, excellent closing speed and very opportunistic. Tyrann will have to put on another 25 lbs but I could see him being a safety at the next level. Hopefully he stays the next 2 years though..

Except TroyP is about 30-35 lbs heavier and has 3-4 inches on TM7. There aren't many safeties or cornerbacks as small as TM7. If anyone that size can make it, it'll be TM7. I've never seen someone his size be such a game changer on defense. Hell before his suspension he was tied for the lead in SEC in tackles. His football iq has to be off the charts. I know everyone, his whole life, has told him he is too small. He has proven all of them wrong

There's no way those two are the same height.

The NFL and college are starting to make a push towards bigger and more physical DB's... Tharold Simon fits the mold perfectly in my opinion. Hopefully he stays his last two years.

As a huge fan of both teams, I can easily say they are actually nothing alike.

Too soon to tell. I've seen so many guys who looked unstoppable in college but couldn't quite make it in the pros.
An example is Josh Reed. He was catching balls in double, triple coverage at LSU and yet ended up having a very quiet career as a 3rd WR and backup in the NFL. Sometimes, the skills translate and sometimes they just don't.
So as far as I'm concerned, jury is out on all these guys until they play at the next level. I sure hope they succeed.
