It's not as if this shocks me just irritated over the fact that the NCAA allowed Ohio St. to segment their new coaches on the recruiting front entirely and the old staff to game prep. I realize this isn't the only school that has been afforded this opportunity but it's especially upsetting when you consider the blatant violations at both Ohio St. and UNC but how they're actually benefiting from their situation.
And I love how silent ESPN/talking heads are regarding Urban and UF and the mess he's left there. Wouldn't help them put the image back together so they have the strong OSU viewing block.

JT landed top 5 classes on regular.
Since you don't think I know recruiting.
Here are the Tressel classes according to Rivals.
2002 5
2003 41
2004 9
2005 12
2006 12
2007 15
2008 4
2009 3
2010 25
2011 11
Those are the Tressel classes. Please show me top 5 on a regular basis.

Have you looked to see how many coaches are on the Ohio State staff?
The recruiting has been done by Urban Meyer, Luke Fickell and Mike Vrabel. Two are current coaches. The "coaches" that Urban Meyer has hired that could be recruiting are fulfilling their obligations with their old team to coach that team through the bowl game. There are no new coaches out recruiting other than Urban Meyer.

Which no doubt had an effect on the ultimate opportunist of a coach. How long until he has more "chest pains" and has to flee that job, run behind ESPN's shadow, only to show up elsewhere "ready to go" as a "insert school man"?
He recruited Tebow, he gets all the credit. But the dude is a scumbag.

Seems pretty amazing even this is allowed all things considered.

You seem to be saying Ohio State shouldn't be allowed to recruit at all right now.
There is already a vacancy on the staff. The staff isn't over the allowable limit. The coaches that won't be there after the bowl game already know who they are and the new coaches will come in and recruit after their bowl games. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Not at all. I'm saying allowing parts of the old and parts of the new to be at the school fulfilling entirely one department of their job is a joke and once again shows how impotent the NCAA is.

Of course you believe that, it's your team. I have nothing against OSU, I actually like the team. I think your coach is a phony, but he was a good hire for your program all things considered. But considering your actions, this seems to me a way to actually advantage a school that doesn't deserve as much.

are you trying to prove my point ?
3 out of his 10 classes were top 5; like i said, he was getting them regularly.
30% of the time you are a recruiting a TOP 5 CLASS; that is crazy good! the only other schools who can claim such the past ten years are USC, LSU, UF, FSU, and UT.
meyer will carry on where JT left off; locking down most of ohio, a random from PA and then snatching a few elite prospects from the south.

Scout now since they usually like OSU more and you used Rivals rankings to make your point
2002: 3
2003: 25
2004: 11
2005: 7
2006: 13
2007: 16 (only took 15 guys that class)
2008: 4
2009: 1
2010: 20
2011: 6
Ok, 5 classes were in the top 10. Urban Meyer will likely be in the top 10 every year depending on the numbers. That should hopefully make the 2nd string and 3rd string guys a little stronger giving the depth to win the national title. No one will argue that OSU's starters are as good as anyone; it's been a depth problem in the huge games I feel

Definitely not a solidified heisman yet, but he is exactly the QB URban likes.
I think it is proven what URban can do with QBs that fit his system.

i also think that Tebow was a gigantic part of Meyers success.. he had #1 talent last year, but where was the #1 ranking??
Posted on 12/20/11 at 12:33 am to RollTigersRoll
If UM doesn't win within a couple years he'll say he has a health problem and bail.

Urban Meyer is a better recruiter than Tressel. Meyer's recruiting classes at UF were better than Tressel's classes and he was competing against Miami and FSU for in-state and Nick Saban was reaching into the Florida pan handle.

they were essentially the same. meyer also recruited gobs of boneheads that never panned out and he oversigned a few classes which the B1G does not allow.

yeah, that stark florida high school football talent; barely enough to go around, its pretty amazing how he did it............
