Do not low ball on a scope for your rifle. You will pay dearly in the future (pun intended)

THis. People look at scopes and think they can cut some corners. DON"T DO IT!

.....and whatever he puts on that Ruger, you have to use Loctite!
I learned my lesson about this with the 45-70. They have a little kick. I mounted mine and took my first shot, had it fly of the rail, hit me in the eye, do a few tumbles, then land on the deck behind me.
I picked it up, mounted again, and used the stuff.
I use Loctite before I shoot with a new scope from now on.
