Do we finally see a pass off the Jet Sweep in the BCS NC game?

People have been waiting 3 years to see Shep throw it. Why not now?

I certainly hope so.
HOWEVER, I don't necessarily thing it will be RS10 who throws the pass...
I think they might do something like a RS10 sweep to the right, JJ fades left behind the line and gets hit with the ball.

I remember seeing that pass by RP vs VT in 2007. Went for an easy TD.

does the sweep man ever throw off the jet sweep? I like how Bama had the sweep man pitch to the "normal" QB split out wide outta their wildcat look.

yep. that was a classic speed option like we run with JJ EXCEPT he pulled up knowing they would bite on the run yet again. BOOM!
ETA: actually it was like a QB keeper there was no RB to pitch to. worked though!

True. Ware also threw a pretty good pass last year at auburn. He also was a qb in high school.
What that tells you is that we have a lot of guys that can throw off a trick play

Cause it is a dumb move.
We are a great team. Great teams usually dont do dumb things. Desperate teams do that type stuff. The jet sweep should be run a bunch against Bama, I dont think they have the answer to the outside rushing attack without softening up the middle. KH at tail with Shep in the game, or KH at full with Ford in the backfield will be poison to Bama.

can we get some more motion when running the speed option UNLIKE how we do it now? put shep in motion one way for the possible jet sweep and have JJ go the other way possibly on a speed option with blue or ford. bama would have to defend the whole field horizontally, sideline to sideline. tough to do not knowing who is getting it.

I need the experts on the board to correct me if I am wrong, but on the Jet Sweep, the ball is handed off in front of the QB. The reason you have not seen the pass on the Jet Sweep is because it is an illegal pass.
You can not throw on a hand off...it has to be a pitch behind the qb or a throw behind the qb.

would love to see something like that. The whole team would bite on Shep going on way leaving either JJ or Ford/Blue a huge opening on the other side
