It can be the biggest rush and the biggest disappointment all at the same time. I shot a doe last night at 20 yds. Had the perfect quartering away shot. I saw and heard the arrow hit. When she ran off I could see the arrow in her and all I found was the broken piece of arrow with blood on it. Never found anymore blood after that. Going back to look again today, but not real hopeful.

losing a deer is a crappy feeling.
i lost a doe like that a few years ago myself. i even found where she fell down and blood was everywhere. she got up, went through a briar thicket then hit some open woods. we searched until midnight then next morning. GONE!
horrible horrible feeling.

I had a complete pass through on a small 4pt in velvet last year and never found a drop of blood. I was only hunting a 20 acre patch of woods too. Searched for over 6 hours for that deer and never found anything. You're right, it is an awful feeling.

I think you'll find her. Look hard and long.

Same thing happened to me last month. Good shot blood everywhere. I screwed up by going look for her too fast after about 10 minutes and actually jumped her up left for a while and tracked for 1/4 mile and then lost trail. Lesson learned, not starting to track one for at least an hour!
