Man this rule really fricks the refs. Any red with a conscience has to feel bad about calling it even though they are required to per the rulebook.

I hate this rule because it's very subjective.

Here's the deal if they don't call it no one says anything. If they do all hell breaks loose. Smarter not to do it unless it is really egregious. Refs that are flag happy with subjective fouls like that deserve all the crap they get.

There's got to be a point where the refs understand the spirit of the rule and use some common sense. If that's not possible, then they should rewrite the rule to be more clear of taunting the other team. Raising a hand in excitement and being penalized for it is assinine.

This clearly shows that you cannot write rules that are correct is all instances.

There must be some outlet for players to exult in the moment.

The penalty should be reserved for true taunting - where a player is trying to embarrass and opposing player - or engaging in an orchestrated performance.

Being exultant and raising your hand in the act of scoring a touchdown in a state championship game is as normal as sunrise

You must not know what a liberal is. You need to look up the meaning.

What is this taking sides talk ? It's not taking sides,it's not liberal nor is it conservative,it's just plain dumbass.People who think they can legislate emotion are just dumbass. I can understand punishing blatant celebrating in an opponents face but to punish JOY is a load of crap.

C'mon people... This has nothing to do with politics. If you want to argue indefinitely go to the poli board.

I know this kid just has to be devastated. Thing of how much better he'd feel if he got a message from Wing.
