Georgia Dominated LSU and Was Clearly the Better Team

Georgia had 296 total yard to LSU's 237 for a 59 yard differential.
Alabama fans and the media has taught me that if you have more yards (Bama had 56 more, 295 to 239), that you are clearly the better team. Actually, Georgia is better than Bama by 3 yards according to Bama fans and the media.
I am pointing this out because I keep hearing about "stats" and the "eyeball test" when it comes to who is the better team. But, the media analysis is so often wrong based on all of this.
Stats mean nothing. LSU has proved that all year.

Georgia also almost made another field goal and a few more touchdowns, so those need to be calculated into the domination.

There are 3 types of lies in this world: Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics.

LSU won by a ton in the 2nd half and were obviously better.
However, the 1st half showed that LSU is beatable. The LSU corners play aggressive since they have pressure from the front 4 usually; if you can do something (rolling out etc) to buy a little more time, then the WRs can do double moves and the LSU guys bite a lot.
I'm just not sure how many teams can really make this work this year

A football game lasts 60 minutes.

Georgia has more of a claim to the "we beat ourselves" excuse. Bama didn't drop any wide open TD passes, let alone 2

Did I argue that? No in fact i agree with you. If UGA is up 24-0 like they easily could have been early in the 2nd, then who knows what happens.
I said LSU was better, but getting in a huge hole early with a team who power runs is problematic.

Georgia dominated the game, obviously.
Bama fans were using their 8 second TOP advantage as a reason why Bama dominated.

This LSU team is not a stats team, but a scoreboard team.

there's something called "adjustments"... LSU made them in the second half.

This is a straw man. People say BAMA outplayed LSU because they had more chances to win the game than LSU. LSU just capitalized better.

Exactly. Any team is "beatable" on any given day. The problem is, the other team has to actually go out and do it. GA failed to do it, so did Bama.
Football, how does it work?
