you can hear it in his voice. He knows he made a big mistake leaving. He was very complimentary of LSU just now.

When he was on the first time, he was saying "we" and then realized what he was doing and started saying LSU. He misses coaching for the greatest program in the country.

I'm glad he isn't

There was a thread earlier this week about Les Miles making LSU football fun again. I absolutely agree with that.

In his Monday press conference a few days ago after the Auburn game, a reporter asked him who he would cheer for in the SEC Championship.

He then became overtly anxious, and stammered about for about 30 seconds. There was then an awkward ~5 seconds of silence, and then Saban starting talking again, and said, truth be told, that he would pull for LSU. He talked about how he coached there and still has "a lot" of friends there.

He loves LSU, and took a major promotion because he thought that's what he wanted.

Apparently LSU fans easily forget that Saban left LSU to essentially have full control over a NFL organization.

Would anyone here not take a major promotion? He then realized that it simply wasn't for him, and only would have found that out by actually taking the position. He wanted to get back to collegiate football, and Alabama was a big time opening. If 'Bama had a head coach at the time, and the Texas job was vacant, he would have gone there, or to any other big D1 school that happened to have a head coaching vacancy.

But LSU fans like to sell this story as some diabolical plot by Saban to intentionally screw LSU.

Let it go brah, let it go.
He left, he's not coming back and believe me he does NOT care. This fellow here only cares about the $$ nothing else.

this thread is ridiculous

the only time Nick Saban gives a shite about LSU is when he has to play them.

You LSU fans who keep harping on Saban are pathetic. To Saban, there's not 10 cents of difference between LSU and Bama. He didn't grow up pulling for either. The same is true of Les Miles, by the way. You idiots who think Les is loyal to LSU are kidding yourselves. These men are professional coaches we hire to help us win. They have the same loyalty to our schools that NFL players have to their teams. From the little information I have, they both seem like good men, but I could be wrong (see Joe Paterno).

Aint no doubt about it. Everything works out for a reason and Im sure glad that it did but you can bet that if Miles had gone to Michigan in 2007, Saban would have come back to LSU. However, Im glad everything worked as it did and Im glad we got Miles.

Every single thing he says is trying to better his image and secure a BCSNC appearance. Just winning over the voters is all. You people forget way too fast, the man is a fricking weasel.
