Haven't read much about JJ's pro prospect and teams being interested, but I always figured someone might scoop him as a undrafted free agent.

The Next Level
SI.com NFL draft analyst Tony Pauline weighs in with his thoughts on the top pro prospects in this matchup. Earlier this season, Pauline profiled LSU defensive end Lavar Edwards and linebacker Karnell Hatcher; corner Morris Claiborne and receiver Rueben Randle; and safety Brandon Taylor.

• QB Jordan Jefferson, LSU: Jefferson has been on a tear recently and NFL scouts are taking notice. He's an athletic college player who possesses an NFL arm yet is still rough around the edges. With the recent success of ultra-athletic signal-callers, it's likely a team takes a chance on Jefferson in the draft with the hopes of developing him for the future. Grade: Fifth-round prospect.

• LB Ryan Baker, LSU: The senior linebacker lacks the classic measurables NFL scouts desire for a linebacker, yet his intangibles are infectious. Baker offers the versatility to be slotted as a backup in a variety of defensive schemes. Scouts also feel Baker will be an exceptional special teams player. Grade: Seventh-round prospect.

absolute best case scenario is 5th round. his mental clock/speed at which he can pan the field and find open recievers needs to get 100000000000 times better.

I would not be surprised if he sneaks up into the early 4th round if not late 3rd if he performs at the senior bowl practices/combine/pro day like he did at the Manning Passing Academy

Jordan Jefferson won't even play a down in a second tier professional football league, not to mention the NFL.

Certainly not as a NFL qb.... I can't imagine him having to learn another position that late in his career.... that would be dam near impossible. He is extremely athletic, but I don't think he is could pull that off. I hate to dis our own , but he can't make the throws here, no way he could at that level..... it just is what it is....

Dude is not going to gain the 40 IQ points he needs to play in the NFL, no matter what he does to prepare himself.

The hate on this board is fricking astounding. One of our players gets some props by a random draft analyst and you all can't wait to rip JJ apart. Unbelievable.

Dont be a jackass. Everything he said in the article was true. The guy is fairly raw has a very strong arm and is very athletic. I think 5th round is a little high but Im not paid to analyze the current scouting climate of the NFL. Hell if this guy wants to start some positive chatter about JJ let him. Cant hurt LSU to have our starting qb drafted in the NFL draft.
