The one thing that many UGA fans on and off this forum have not realized is the state at which LSU was in. While we were higher ranked and projected heavily to win, it was a house of cards at that point in the year.

That was at the end of the Katrina year that saw the team completely mentally and physically exhausted and it was painfully obvious......I was there and it was hard to watch.

So, in closing, UGA fans I'd be careful drawing parallels with the two squads......they were/are light years apart in condition as well as talent/coaching.

Exactly. I'm not sure how any reasonable UGA fan would even make such comparisons.

Great point, Charles.

Also, the team was coming off of what, 11 straight game weeks?

When was UGA's bye this year?(just curious)

No doubt about it. This Damn Strong Football team is in no way like the '05 team. Unfortunately, I was there also and it wasn't fun. But this team is different in so many ways. This football team comes to work ready to play. And the depth. Wow. The best LSU football team I have seen in 30+ years. Tigers will be focused and get the victory.

completely flat. no bye week the entire season. Katrina. Miles first year. Rita.

Lost to #13 Georgia by 20 then 27 days later beat # 9 Miami by 37 in the same building

Get ready for a role reversal of 2001 (you're playing Tennessee).

hey, local media was hyping up Justin Vincent prior to the 05 game based on his 03 game, when he was nowhere near that type player anymore. might be something in the water.

I remember that long stretch with no breaks - it was brutal for the team at a time in which the state was devestated.
