Is Ohio State getting the same Urban Meyer that Florida got in '05?

IMO, they're not. he might have 1 or 2 good seasons left in him but i don't see much coming from him in the future.

In the mean time he is competing for OUR areas recruits too...what a dirt bag. Dealing with CNS, CMR,CLM isnt enough?

Well, there is a reason Florida is that bad this year and I refuse to believe Weiss and Muschamp are horrible coaches. Chief seem to be doing alot worse this year without Weiss.

I don't know how many FL kids are gonna want to up and leave to live in Columbus, OH for 4 years.

He's damaged goods...
IMO him going to tOSU is going to hurt Florida more than anything because he is going to pull recruits out of state. For as much as I do not care for CUM or tOSU, I'd rather play for CUM than Coach Boom- especially with Jaba the Hut as your O coordinator. He will find that tOSU will not be as easy to bring recruits to as Florida was- horrible weather, possible sanctions/loss of scholarships, Michigan on the upswing...
Still, Foley may want to put Muschamp on a short leash and start looking for a big name to bring in sooner than later. Maybe Gruden?

they've recruited florida before, like santonio holmes

I think it will be easier for him to recruit at OSU, and he will definitely get big recruits out of Florida. He's recruiting the kid from Tampa really hard right now who wasn't even looking at OSU before.

Yeah tOSU has really struggled to get top ranked recruits to play there because of the weather and/or Michigan
The sanctions might make a smidgen more difficult but look at USC/Auburn - no one gets the SMU treatment now.

Really?
I normally see them competing with Miami for recruits. I don't normally see UF lose recruiting battles with tOSU.

They stole Shazier from UF last year....

I didn't say they would struggle. Ohio is always has great recruits in state. I just said it wouldn't be as easy as bringing them to Florida where the girls don't have to wear 3 layers of clothing for 7 months a year. And Michigan hasn't been relevant since Lloyd Carr left, but Hoke has them moving in the right direction.
He will have to work hard, just like he did at FL when he was competeing with FL State and Miami for recruits... and who knows if his heart can take it...

Trying to speculate on all this bullshite is a joke.
No one has ANY idea of how good or bad he will be.
Bottom line, the guy knows what it takes to get it done...whether or not he does what it takes is the question.

If I'm a recruit I'd have a hard time believing anything out of Meyer's mouth.

FL HS coaches aren't going to be excited about sending their players to OSU IMO.
Also, no other schools will use the lying against Urban.

Same with Noah Spence out of PA. Top 10 player nationally who didn't even have Ohio State on his radar and now according to insiders it looks like we are looking good.

Shazier, Sabino, Brewster and others disagree.

Is he gonna play running back or something?

He is gonna be just fine. Look at what he did at Utah......I am sure he can make things work at tOSU. Even if he only gets in-state talent he will still be competing for a NC almost every year.

what's OSU's target recruiting base in south? I know Florida, but do they have any other places?

We're pretty strong in Georgia. Pull a few here and there out of Texas as well.
