what teams are going to scoop up these recruiting beasts?
tim brewster is also available
that could be a 3-headed dream team for a team like arkansas

I think Porter might end up at either of the MS schools. I don't know zook's recruiting grounds

Would love to have an elite recruiter on the staff for one. What are Porter's and Brewster's position specialties?

Zook is a defensive guy. I think he was the Saints D Coordinator at one point.

porter is your typical RB coach/recruiter. he's not good at actually coaching, but it's ok b/c there is only so much you can coach RBs. your RB coach is probably already in this role
brewster was an NFL TEs coach, but he's also coached STs

Hmm I don't see Petrino adding either of them. Our RB's coach is already one of our best recruiters and has coached All-SEC guys in McFadden, Jones, Michael Smith and Knile Davis. He hasn't really done anything to justify letting him go.
Only place on offense we could add Porter or Brewster would be TE's coach. They are currently coached by a GA.
Our ST"s are coached by John L. Smith who is like a father figure almost to Petrino. Can't see him being moved unless he wants a better job.
Now if we fire Willy Robinson like a lot of people want then I would have no problem going after Zook. We are trying to move to more of a national recruiting model like Tennessee in the past and Zook would fit that profile well.

well then enjoy 3rd place in the west, bro

No kidding. That's my only complaint with Petrino. We don't have a bad arse recruiter on the staff and he doesn't seem to care.

i'm basically solving your program's problems for you..for free

He's a GA. Our receiver's coach and o-line coaches help him out as well. We could most definitely add Porter or Brewster there.

you have 2 of something that i'm not thinking about
who is your WRs coach? i'm sure porter could cocah there (WRs coach is like RBs coach, typically)

Kris Cinkovich. He came to us from UNLV. He's done a pretty good job so far but he came into a good situation with some receivers who had been starting for two years already. Paul Petrino was the receivers coach before he left prior to last season. He could probably be replaceable imo.

he should be available again, no?

We really need someone on staff who is young and has ties to the south/Texas. I think that would go miles towards stepping up our recruiting game. After back to back 10 win seasons there should be no reason that we shouldn't be capable of getting top 15 classes going forward. We have to capitalize on our momentum now.

Yeah I am interested to see what happens with him. I can't see him coming back because the reason he left was to get out from Bobby's wing. He wants to be a head coach and the knock on him when he interviewed for jobs two years ago was that people wanted to see what he could do when actually calling the plays on his own.
He did a good job at Illinois until these last six games. It will be interesting to see if that was enough to get him a job. I could definitely see him interviewing for some of the smaller school openings like Akron and Buffalo.
