Falcon/Vikes broadcast crew say there's "something not right" about Bama being in the clubhouse while LSU will be in that building on Saturday with work to do.

I saw the thread on the sec rant where that rockstar dude just made shite up. Pretty pathetic.

Ok State's real problem is Va Tech if they beat Clemson. It is hard to imagine ALL or MOST voters putting Ok State over the ACC Champ Va Tech - so Ok State basically needs Va tech to lose to have any chance
Big 12 implosion is really potentially costing OSU this year...no chance for Pokes to beat anyone in a conference final since the Big 12 lost their championship game.

3 Stanford 11-1 2,512 21.8
4 Virginia Tech 11-1 2,438 21.2
5 Oklahoma State 10-1 2,414 20.99
This is from the Harris poll. Looks like these three are already sharing the 3/4/5 votes. I think Stanford is solidly jumped by VT and OSU wins due to Stanford being idle.
No way to answer this but just food for thought, if VT and OSU win, do some voters put VT and OSU 2 and 3, moving Bama to 4? I'd figure these would be the same ones that would put OSU over Bama, due to conference champion etc etc.
This last poll will either be very interesting or very boring, depending on OSU/OU

AP possibly positioning OSU for a split title in the AP in case Alabama were to win the BCS?
NO. IF[AND ITS A BIG IF] Bama were to beat LSU they would be undisputed champ.

There's no region in the country that is going to say the SEC and Alabama is not a supreme #2.
That is probably true, but there may be parts of the country that just don't want to see an all SEC championship game, and a rematch at that.

Matt, this is what I got for the BCS top 5
1. LSU 100.00% + 100.00 + 100.00 = 300.00
2. Alabama 95.66% + 95.8+ 95.00 = 286.46
3. Oklahoma State 84.41% + 83.9 + 93.00 = 261.31
4. Virginia Tech 87.53% + 84.8+ 80.00 = 252.33
5. Stanford 87.39% + 87.4 + 77.00 = 251.79
Thats with both harris and coaches poll. Bama still has a nice lead in the standings, but OSU will close that gap both in comps and humans with a win. A Va Tech loss will help tremendously as well.

7th Ward -
I have a question. You have claimed in the past to "run the computer numbers". Only Colley's model is published of which I have personally reproduced. The other 5 are not - at least to my knowledge. The other 5 I can usually predict, but requires more estimation.
Do you actually have information about the models used or do you just estimate them based on historical trends?

Historical data along with the help of someone else. I've been doing them for about a year now. He's beem doing it for almost 9

Throw all of this week's numbers out. I think what some Bama fans are not realizing is next week's final polls affect who plays in the game. Voters can sit back and let OSU earn it. Any computer ground gained by Bama this week will be lost if OSU beats a top 10 opponent.
Do non SEC coaches really want to see an ALL SEC BCSNCG?
While it's almost certain that Bama plays LSU in New Orleans, to completely write off Big XII champ OSU would be foolish. Conference champs of the #1 conference in the country with the same record as a team that didn't win their division. Is it really that much of a stretch to have OSU jump Bama?
'06 and '07 are prime examples of voters affecting the final polls to prevent certain match-ups.

With oSu, they have not won their conference. I did not expect to see any move this week. The huge kicker will be, when the regular season if final, and the conference champions are crowned. If oSu wins, how many VT and Stanford voters are going to vote them ahead of oSu, when they know that Stanford and VT have no chance of playing for title?
They have options now, next week if oSu were to win, they will only have one option to avoid rematch, vote oSu second.
That is why these predictions by a lot of the experts are a joke. How in the world do these experts know what all of the Harris poll and coaches poll voters will do.
However, we do know that there has never been a title game between two teams in the same conference.
I would not even say that Va Tech is completely out of this deal.

i know it may not be a popular idea on this board, what is keeping the anti-rematch crowd from voting OSU #1? those #1 votes would get OSU over bama

This has been my argument all along. We have a potential slugfest with GA while Bama sits with their feet propped up, just waiting? And then they only have to go 1-1 with us to win the BCS?
I'm not afraid of losing to them, but it's the epitome of unfair.
They had their shot. They blew it. Move along.
On the other hand, if we play them and win, there won't be any doubt about who the #1 team is. And all these insufferable pundits will have to shut their traps.

I'm pretty sure their computer score lets us know they are 100% out of it. They could however take some votes away. I'm wondering if we wouldn't see some voters put 2)OSU, 3) VT, 4) ALA should both OSU and VT win, due to conference championship.

Even though the polls are not released, I think that (#) next to OSUs name would put a lot of outrage out there over blatant bias to keep Bama out. I would assume even those with an agenda want to avoid unnecessary attention that could take away some of the human poll power.

Are the chances of a rematch hurt if LSU was to lose to UGA? I mean, if the voters feel LSU should stay ahead of Bama, but Okie Lite wins and VT shits the bed could the final rankings finish with OSU 1 and LSU 2?

There is a chance that Ok State could jump to number 1 in some of the computers, thus creating a larger gap between them and Bama. The catch would be that LSU might wedge in between Bama and Ok State in some human polls, making things worse for Ok State. I suppose if LSU lost in OT or something, LSU would remain #1 on almost every ballot and then OSU could get some extra computer help - but that is a stretch.
I almost think OSU would be better with an LSU blowout. If LSU wins by 4 TDs it just further proves that LSU did everything it possibly could with its given schedule and more voters might sympathize with LSU having to beat Bama again. But this is also a stretch.

I think it is time to post a clear, concise "Who to root for" update for next weekend across the board for those who need the extra assistance (me)

If Oklahoma State wins in a blowout and Virginia Tech either loses or wins a close game, the announcemnt of the final BCS rankings will go down as the most controversial in history, regardless of who ends up in the #2 spot.
