Call me crazy but isn't there a rule that only two teams from any given conference can play in a BCS bowl game?

Meaning:

If for some reason LSU loses to Georgia, then UGA would take a seat in the Sugar Bowl, then either LSU or Bama would be in the Title game and the other would be out - even if they are still 1 and 2.

Also, wondering assuming LSU wins and plays Bama in the Title game, who would play in the Sugar Bowl if my above statements were true?

Only if both aren't playing in the Championship. You can have 3 if two from the same conference are playing in the Championship.

If LSU and Alabama play in the NC game and neither one is conference champion, then a third SEC could go.

No. 3 can go if 1 and 2 are in the NC and don't win the conference.

What if the top 2/3 teams in country were from the SEC West for the next 3 years? You think they're gonna have a SEC West / NC game that many times? LOL

Only two teams from one conference in the BCS Bowls. There are some selection rules that may get a third team in but they are way out there and little chance.

I remember reading that rule in years past and wondering why they'd even bother addressing such an improbable situation. Ha.

not "way out".

Georgia beats LSU in a close well played game,
in Atlanta Georgia.

Meanwhile, Okie Lite loses to Oklahoma.
Va Tech falls to Clem, again.

Bama finishes #1
LSU finishes #2.

LSU meets Bama in BCS champ game. Georgia hosts Houston in the Sugar Bowl, representing as SEC champ.

its only if the top 2 in the BCS are from the same conference, and another team from said conference wins the automatic berth, via winning the championship game
