just call taf and ask them. they will basically tell you what $ amount it will take. my guess is 4 tix for next year is over 10k.

Actually, this place is loaded with smartasses ( and dumbasses).
It's hard to get a straight answer - most people on here just try to be cute.
(Hey, look at me)
Like I said - smartasses & dumbasses.

Several years ago when I was giving annually and between 800-900 in rank and I applied for 2 more tickets in NEZ, they called me but I passed on them.

He's graduating this semester and transferring to LSU for his masters degree so he won't be a freshman. I just can't see giving $5000 and not get anything in return. I could understand if TAF would give tickets for a couple games the first year and as long as you continue contributing you would then be eligible for full season tickets. That seems a lot more reasonable. For that kind of money I can just go on the open market and buy tickets to whatever games I want to go to and still come out cheaper.

you'll need to be ranked at least 3500 to have a shot at 2 tix and that probably still will not cut it. the renewal rate is over 98% especially if we win it all.

Well that is option B

Option A is 5k per year because you have to jump thousands of people in line with more points

Supply and demand is reasonable. You, sir, are unreasonable.

You get to see facility upgrades and LSU continue to win.... And you get a sweet car decal, a Christmas and birthday card, and free beer before the game in the pmac

Obviously this doesnt work the way you think it does. Tickets dont just come around. They stay in families for generations. We've had ours for over 50 years along with almost everyone else around us. You're not getting tickets next years unless you write taf a fat check

I have about 30 points and ranked in the top 2500. This past year I was offered singles in the lower bowl and pairs in the far reaches of the upper decks.

To get 30 points in one year, you'd have to give something like $30K.

Seriously, it will take money to TAF AND time. With season tickets being in such demand, you are going to have a hard time as an outsider for this next year. There is the high renewal rate, plus season ticket holders getting first dibs on remaining tickets, and yes there is the issue of staying in good standing with TAF. I had given mine up back in the Gerry DiNardo years. It took me several years to get them back. They will stay in the family this time around.

This is exactly what I'm trying to start. I want to be able to have something to pass on to my children and then my grandchildren years from now. We are all die hard fans and that's something that will never change. That being said I just think after reading this thread that the TAF system stinks. LSU has the best football reputation in the country and I understand supply and demand. However, it's college football. I can get Saints season tickets a lot easier and cheaper than Tiger tickets and see NFL games. This just seems backwards to me.

If you are willing to do season tickets one season at a time, go on E-Bay around April. Warning, they are going to be even pricier, but it's probably better than nothing.

If you want tickets in your name, start donating to TAF and patiently wait or donate $5K. If you just want tickets, find a current season ticket holder who's fairly high on the priority list and have them buy tickets for you. Current season ticket holders get first dibs. Did this a couple of years ago for some friends and got them a couple in the lower bowl SEZ. You get tickets, your friend gets more points and a tax break from the Tradition Fund. Win, win.

BUT, those tickets will always be in the current season ticket holder's name and he'll never be able to transfer them to anyone else (other than a lineal decedent at death). And, the person paying for them will never be able to order away or bowl game tickets -- nor pass them on to his kids.

My TAF rank is slightly over 1,000. Every year I try to get my 2 pairs closer to each other and every year I fail to do so. Someone without any direct heirs will have to die in my section before I will accomplish this. And that doesn't mean that there won't be a guy with a better ranking that wants 4 together.

It's not an easy road but I think getting 4 together is easier than getting 4 together when you have 2 and 2 and don't want to give up the better of the 2 tickets.

Back in 2003 they allowed tickets to be transferred. I know people who paid over $50000 for the rights to four tickets. Will they ever have this option again?
