Much traffic while great TV shows like Boardwalk Empire only get 2-4 pages of discussion? Seems like we have a ton of 15 year olds talking about how great moats are or what weapons they'd use in a fantasy land.

it helps that its based off a comic..alot of the discussion is comparing the series to the comic...i will admit though that the whole moat thing might be the dumbest/un-funniest thing on this board

The TWD threads are mostly complaining anyway (for good reason, AMC fricked TWD over this season).

The Boardwalk threads have more substance and actual discussion.
Quality over quantity, NIH.

Agree. I just find so much more to discuss in an avg BWE thread than a Walking Dead one. I mean, they've been searching for the same girl since episode one and dicking around the pregnancy storyline for about the same time. Nothing changes

Steve Buscemi isn't supposed to be your typical tough guy. His toughness lies under his intelligence and cunning.

I don't think he's supposed to be a tough guy. Rothstein, Nucky, and Torio are not tough guys...the opposite of the young and up & coming generation with Darmody, Luciano, and Capone

I really couldn't disagree more.

And Nucky Thompson isn't supposed to be a tough guy.
He's a politician, first and foremost.
He's a hand-shaker and people-pleaser.
In some ways, he's even a little weasel-y, which is awfully Buscemi-ish, wouldn't you say?

One of the themes of this show is his trying to reconcile his political identity with his new gangster role.

Enjoy what you want to enjoy.

Don't focus on others not sharing your taste.

a couple of reasons..

BWE wasnt that great at first, and a lot of people gave up on it..

TWD is bad, and based on a comic.. so it gets a lot of argument going..

but mostly, more people have access to TWD than BWE, because of the channels that broadcast them.

i've wondered the same thing and almost started a topic on this last week. I watch the walking Dead, but I don't get the love this show gets. Imo, it is ok, but not that good.

It is amazing how much noise a zombie can make yet they have stealth mode that allows them to creep up on anyone. They must also be invisible from certain distances b/c sometimes they can't be seen with binoculars.

Yes. But the difference in length between the boardwalk empire & walking dead discussions represented on this board is miniscule in comparison to the difference in discussion length pertaining to good movies & bad movies represented on this board. Walking Dead may get 5 times the spotlight that Boardwalk gets, but bad movies get 10 times the spotlight that good movies get. It's why I partially abandoned this board for the Poli & Outdoor boards; I just visit other movie forums instead.

I think all it says is that a few BWE fans are pretentious.
