Met a dude at work and started talking LSU football. Being an old dude like me, he had to let me know about his glory days and that he played college ball at Alcorn St back in the early 80's, but personally knew Dalton Hilliard & Garry James and played against a lot of other old Tigers during his high school years.

I always take these stories with a grain of salt, but as he started talking, I knew he lived college football & recruiting. It was like meeting Mr Clean, only he really was black. lol He said Frank Wilson wouldn't take the Tulane job, talked about Wilson's influence on Joe McKnight & others. Talked about Ryan Perriloux, Alfred Blue, Stefan Francois (who he is related to) and other River Parish teams. He showed me his cell phone with Ike Hilliard & Torrance Small in it. We started talking Dutchtown football with Eddie Lacy, Kelvin York, Eric Reid & Landon Collins.

As we got to Landon Collins & LSU, I said there's a WR I really want to play at LSU mainly because I saw him destroy Landon Collins in 7-on-7 drills. He asked "Who?" I said "D'haquille Williams, 6-3, 4.5 speed, Dez Bryant kind of hands" He didn't seem to know who I was talking about, then the light went off "OH! Dookus? Yeah Dookus is my nephew. I didn't know who you were talking about because we call him Dookus."

He said he just talked to "Dookus" (and showed me he's listed in his cellphone). He said he's at a prep school in Houston right now (which made me believe D'haquille really is Dookus). He said "I never know what to believe with him. He said he caught 100 pases for 1400 yards. Now how do you get even numbers like that?"

Anyway, I re-iterated how much I'd love to see him play in purple & gold, and he said, "Well, at one time, he was really high on LSU, but lately Texas A&M has been helping him so much with his schooling, making sure he goes to class, and staying on top of him in that area, he's really looking at Tex A&M pretty hard. But he says it's out of LSU & Texas A&M". Left him with a "next time you talk to him, tell him we'd love to see him as a Tiger" kind of sales pitch.

Anyway, take it fwiw. Thought I'd pass it along for anybody interested.

My nephew goes by a nickname and 99% of people don't know his real name. Still...I know it...that really sounds like a red flag.

But did he know he was speaking to an true artist & an "Internet Legend"?

Interesting conversation. Would love to have Dookus in Purple-and-Gold. Would hate to see him being cheered by yell leaders. His uncle sounds too cool for College Station. I bet he is too.

If he goes to A&M and stays as long as C. Michael did, he'll be smart enough to know he should have begged LSU for a spot.

and Geaux Dookus!

Hopefully this guy has a lot of nephews. Otherwise not remembering your nephew's real name is a little embarrassing.
