If you have to worry about a 5th year senior's "confidence" and "psyche," you have more problems than you thought. The game should have slowed down for him 3 years ago. He should not still be turning his back to avoid a hit, thus releasing the ball in any direction. He should be owning the pocket. Where does all this "confidence" talk come from?

Lee led the team to a 10-0 record. Most rational people saw him throwin off his back foot and avoiding contact, cuz that is lee's history this didn't just start overnight. Knew eventually it would catch up with him. But when he has a clean pocket and throws with confidence he looks pretty good. But football is a contact sport and them boys from Bama were guerrilas.

The fact is that Les Miles has handled JJ with Kid Gloves for years now, so I don't understand why he shouldn't do the same for Lee? Are you racist?

Bout time someone on here knew what they were talking about lol you must have a football background. I think the coaching staff is gaining more confidence in Jefferson as a passer, which they should, I also think we will see more throws from him...Everyone complains when Jefferson holds the ball too long sometimes, which he does, but I'd much rather that and taking a sack than throwing it up for grabs to avoid a hit.

The only "psyche" I worry about is the one's of MANY of the LSU fans.

THAT is a bunch of whiny, prepubescent girls that need not only to see "their" team win...but, it MUST win in the way they want

stupid fans who doubt Lee, and want to make sure they can blame Les for any mistake Lee or Jefferson may make.

Jefferson does bad "Les is stupid for playing him"
Lee does bad "Les is stupid for messing with his confidence"

Lee is a tested player, and while he may lack elite QB qualities, his confidence/psyche is stronger than people want to admit

Likewise, a group of fans that have the same ideological views and misconceptions of reality such as yourself that like to vilify all those who don't share your own biases is another problem that also can be included in the "LSU Fanbase." Notice, the word "fanbase" encompasses all fans.

Yes, we are a 10-0 team with problems all over the place.

Our QB's are the worst in the country.

They should never see the field.

Maybe we should just pull their scholarships.

Blah, blah...fricking, blah.

He's not a pro prospect, and his confidence was gone when he was still a pup and thrown to the fire. I agree he needs to play better, but we don't know how he's being handled. All yall do is guess. Guess whether he's being handled like an egg, or like he's getting ripped behind closed door Let the coaches do their job, they're pretty good at it.

How do you stand on the position that criticisers are themselves immune from criticism?

misconceptions of reality

Let's try, shall we:

This is what I believe about LSU:

10-0
#1 in every major poll and BCS ranking
Fun to cheer like hell for.
Every player on the team is an LSU player and deserves appreciation
Les Miles has the power and responsibility to coach and select playing time / snaps

Where is the misconception?

seriously? up until last week, Lee had thrown 1 INT in his last 200 or so pass attempts. people really need to forget about 2008. He had a bad game and made two poor decisions. How does one bad game override what he's done all season? Even with those 2 picks, he still only has 3 on the season. Sounds pretty good to me.

This is why I am glad LSU has 2 dissimilar QBs. JJ was a better "match-up" with Bama.

I expect, and hope, that Lee starts against Ole Miss. But, I like BOTH and will cheer hard for either.

We are all guilty of being biased and criticizing. There are valid arguments to support both quarterbacks, and there are plenty of social and cultural norms that have been violated by Les Miles.

If you want to attack other fans, that's fine too. However, making blanket generalizations that degrades those who disagree with you so that you can more easily convince yourself that you are correct, and not biased as well, is very tragic.

It's crazy that our "fans" can be happy that we have TWO qbs that have lots of experience in big games. Most fan bases would be loving it. Not LSU "fans" though. They feel the need to tear down one qb to prop up the other. What the fans of LSU need to do is be happy we have the amazing team that we do instead of being pissed that their qb got a perceived slight. This should be the best of times but some assholes within our fanbase are determined to be pissed about something

I think it's more frustration that we still have a QB controversy. Yes, it is a huge luxury to have two guys with this much experience, but wondering who's gong to start every week can make any fan go manic. No one is pissed about anything. But everyone has their opinion of what QB is better, and both sides have valid reasons for thinking so. Whenever you have two guys that could start and have started, you're going to have differing opinions. That in no way, shape, or form means everyone isn't going to support and root for whoever is taking the snaps. But I don't understand why some people have such a huge problem with posters voicing their opinion on who they think is best and should take the majority of the snaps.

I have no problem with sayin who u think is better. I hate it when posters say," JJ sux or Lee sux". Like I said , no new to tear one down to prop up the other. More times than not the fact that BOTH of these qbs are on the team you cheer for, gets lost. FTR I think Lee should start and JJ come in for a series or two before the half. Lee start the 3 rd qtr and get the first series in the 4 th as well. It's clear Lee needs to get in rhythm. Hey but how cool was that run by lee
