What's Up With DeAngelo Peterson having like 8 catches this year?

I didn't look up the real numbers but it seems like he is a lost dog in this offense now. I really thought coming into this season that the TEs would be very involved in the passing game since we only had one legit receiver coming into the season. Now we have two receivers with Beckham and Randle, but Peterson rarely gets targeted for passes anymore. He seems to be on the field quite a bit but Clement is getting most of the targets.

Any explanation?

Good question. I thought he was going to have a monster year, maybe even have the 2nd most catches on the team. Not sure why he's disappeared.

He missed class a few times so Les isn't going to give him the rock.

He is getting a lot of attention by defenses and was doubled on the interception at Bama. You will see him play a role in Nov 25 and in SECCG.

Clement has surprisingly good hands and is a much better blocker than DP. It's easier to sneak a pass to CC than DP. People key on him when he is in.

We don't throw to rb's or te's. Are passing game to be nothing but stuff over 20 yards

People Key on Randle and the running game. they do not "key" on Peterson.

Clement has been getting open and making good catches...in addition, Miles likes to run a base offense most of the time and doesn't really look to create match-up problems in the passing game.

I wish we did throw more to these positions. A roll out flat pass to the running back should be a permanent part of our package with all the talent we have at running back.

Under Miles, LSU has recruited some great TEs. I guess we recruit them for their blocking prowess.

Neither one of our QB's are good at hitting the TE or our Offense doesn't like to include the TE very much. What blows my mind is that Clement gets at least 1 ball a game thrown his way, and he has dropped a good bit of them. DP is basically a non factor for this team. Not since Flynn was hitting Dickson have we included the TE a decent amount. Never really understood why.

Clement had a couple drops on tough catches early in the season (no excuse but still drops), but he has been a beast this year. Probably the most underrated player on our offense. He's coming on as a receiver lately and I would love to see him continue to get more passes.

Has a BCSchamp ever gone a season without a 200 yard passing game?

Why is anybody surprised by modest stats generated by a high school offense?

Two things lsu doesn't do often is throw to tight end or shallow crossing routes...seems like with our qbs these would be helpful. Might have worked throwing out of your own endzone!

You need to go back and watch game film. Chase has dropped 2 legit balls that should have been caught. 1 against Oregon and 1 against Alabama. The other were poorly thrown balls to him. Most of which were way behind him. The 1 against Oregon would have been a great catch. If JJ leads him with the pass against WKU, that is a TD.

Come up with drops by all the other receivers on this team. All I can say is watch out next year with the hook up of Mett to Clement.

He's overrated or underutilized, take your pick.

Clement has great hands. It boggles how some people still concentrate on the one drop he had against Oregon (the other one was not a drop but a bad throw) when he got hit hard by the defensive player. He has been quite reliable catching the ball, moreso than Peterson, but we need both of them.

This, big time.

This needs to change.
