I really don't want LSU to play a do-over in the BCS Title game.

The opponents would be motivated to win a title plus proving the loss was bogus (especially Oregon, whose fans whine pretty much non-stop about their loss). That is stronger motivation and an advantage for them.

Please let OSU win out, so LSU can beat someone else. Please.

BIG 12 doesn't have a championship game this year with only 10 teams

But I do think if OU beats the number #2 team in the nation the last weekend will jump them up over Bama IMO

Yeah, it is not so much that the B12 doesn't have a championship but that they will play on Dec. 3rd that is important. Alabama's chances of getting in BCSCG are pretty weak.

I dunno - I think Oregon's get's a lot of positive sentiment since they lost earlier compared to OK or Alabama. And the PAC12 *does* have a championship game now, which the Big12 does not. If Oregon wins out and OSU loses to OK. Oregon will be higher ranked in BCS by virtue of playing in a league championship.

'Bama's chances are comparatively poor because their ability to get to the SEC Title game is slim-to-none.

Consider this nightmare scenario. LSU loses to Arky, Arky loses to GA in the SEC Title game. Does any SEC team go to the BCS Title game?

Even if Arkansas beats LSU, they will unlikely get in.

And I stand corrected. Haha. Well still beating the number 2 team will jolt them back up tha rankings and it could be up to the voters if they want a rematch with Oregon or the unknown..

Although they may be the 2nd and 3rd best teams, I certainly hope it is not Oregon or Alabama, just b/c I am not for rematches.

If we give OU a win over OSU and we believe that Bama is up for a rematch, it sits uneasy with me that they actually have an easier road to the title game since they won't have to play an SEC Championship.

But fortunately, LSU controls their own destiny, whereas Alabama does not.

If, and I mean IF, Ok State loses to Oklahoma, and LSU wins out, it will be OU vs LSU. Bama won't even play in the SECCG, and the human polls should be enough to keep Oregon out of the NC. If Ok State beats OU, then its a set matchup, but I really believe it will be LSU vs the Big 12 champ.

We have a tough road to hoe.
Ar-Kansas has an offense while UGa would be the second toughest D we'll have faced.
I'm not that confident in our offense.

That Texas Tech loss AT HOME is starting to look worse and worse as the weeks pass by. Especially after taking a curb stomping by Oke St yesterday.

Whether we want to admit it or not its time to face reality. Bama is the BEST 1 loss team and will get in if Oke St goes down. Now that Boise St and Stanford have gone down there is only one team in their way and they face a very good Oklahoma team.

Your half right. Bama is the best one loss team, but they will keep falling. In the polls. Their big QW over Arky won't look as good when Arky has two loses, not to mention the rapid downfall your about to witness in Penn State and both Okie State and Oregon have better arguments than Bama. Oregon lost to us on the road, and if Okie State wins out this argument is pointless. If OU wins against OKSU, you can pretty much book the Ducks-Bengals rematch. OU lost to TT at home, and there's no way they get voted in ahead of an Oregon team who lost on the road to the eventual undefeated SEC champions, especially considering they play a CCG this year. Bama makes the Sugar and plays god knows who after they sit at home and watch the conference championship games

Logically your argument makes perfect sense and I find it hard to argue against anything you've said.

However....

Bama has the computer's love based on them dropping down only to number 3. Oregon now has the same problem Stanford had coming into this weekend. Outside of LSU who has Oregon really played. The Pac 12 is a lot more down than people realize. Keep in mind Stanford was unbeaten and STILL could not overtake Bama in the polls. The Arkansas win is what will keep them over Oregon because Arkansas is better than anyone on Oregon's schedule outside of LSU.

Now as for the human element. The human polls I believe still think Bama is better than Oregon. Unlike the computers the humans remember Oregon playing SEC defenses. They remember the high powered, warp speed offense running into a brick wall known as the SEC defensive line. The humans will remember who played LSU tougher regardless of location. If there is a rematch to be played it will be decided by which team the humans think has the best shot of beating LSU. As of right now that team is Bama.

IMHO.

Yeah I am more worried about LSU winning out than I am about what everyone else does. But I agree, I want OSU to go undefeated if that is what it takes to keep Bama and Oregon out of the BCS game. Rematches just don't make sense.

At first I wasn't opposed to a rematch with Bama, but...looking at it logically now, If we win out, then Bama should not be in that title game. The more I think about it, if they (BAMA) don't have to play in the SEC championship game, they don't deserve to be in the NC game. They don't have to risk anything by not playing the SEC game, it's almost as if they would be rewarded for losing,AT HOME, to LSU.

I'm kinda worried that we might lose to Arky, Olie St loses to OU, and then the BCSCG becomes Bama/Oregon (2 teams we beat).

This would be our nightmare. One loss and it is over for LSU. I sure hope this team can keep it together for three more games to get to the national championship.
