Skyrim - Vampirism

So I got rid of the curse of lycanthrope only to become a friggin vampire right as I was about to kill the dragon. #(*&)@*&
Doing some research online says that once the disease has reached stage 4 (where I am now) you have to feed on someone to get back down to stage 3 (temporarily). You have to do that in order to not be KOS in every village so you can go get the mission to get cured.
You feed on someone by sneaking up on them while they sleep and hit A (Xbox). The only problem is that none of these fools ever sleep!
Currently level 10, thinking about going back to my level 6 save and hope that I wasn't too far gone then.

Vampirism was the one thing I did not like in Oblivion, it's too hard to cure and you cannot avoid getting it.

I think the cure for vampirism in this game is a lot easier.

It's a cool side quest but I agree it was too involved to cure. It really fricks up your game.

Spoiler time...
In order to rid yourself of Vampirism you must first let it run it's course (level 4 - full blown vampire, everyone will want to kill you day or night). Once it's done that you will need to Feed on someone as they sleep (sneak up on them and you will get prompted to pick their pocket, once you choose this you get the option to pick their pocket or Feed). For me, the easiest I've found was a bandit gal at the bandit camp at Knifepoint Ridge (WNW of Falkreath). Using Sneak and my handy bow I cleared out the camp one-by-one from under a tree across the road from the blacksmith's hut.
**One note on this, I was also 40 points into Sneak and had 2 or 3/5 of the first option on that skill, the second option (50% clothes noise reduction) and the 3rd option (not triggering pressure plates). This is on top of the extra Sneak boost you get as a full blown vampire. I pretty much killed the rest of the camp but her and now I use her to feed on when I need to go into a town for selling/missions/etc.
When night falls and your vampirism is in full effect, your health and stamina regen and a muuuuuuch higher rate. I've decided to use this to clear out as many holds and dens as possible as well as working on other side missions until I am ready to pursue the main mission once again.
***To cure vampirism, after Feeding head to Falkreath's tavern and talk to Valga Vinicia at the Dead Man's Drink (she's the innkeeper). Ask her about rumors and she will tell you to seek out Falion in Morthal. When you finally get there he will not only tell you what you need to do, but he also sells the black soul stones needed.
If you aren't working your Magicka enough to capture souls in gems, there is a sword that will do it in Halldir's Cairn (South of Falkreath).
Back to slaying dragons... :)

Why would you cure lycanthropy? There are 0 consequences to being a werewolf. It also keeps you from being a vamp, which sucks.

I didn't know at the time =/

So far being a lycan rocks. I haven't found any consequences either. There has to be some other than the weakness to silver.

I cured it (before I was actually a vampire) by going to an altar in one of the temples

My new goal is to find out how to become a lycan. I have been intrigued since I found out it was in the game.

One catch though is that once you are infected, you can only be cured once.
After being cured, you can never go werewolf again.

Same as being a vamp in Oblivion.

Get ready to tear some shite up. So far I can whip a lot of arse as a werewolf. Watch out when fighting the Silver Hand though. They all have silver weapons and mess you up pretty good.

I finally got tired of clearing out places at random so I decided to do one last feeding on my little bandit gal then use her soul to fill the black soul gem for the ritual.
Fracking dragon dropped down onto the camp just before I could get to her to feed.
I had to sneak into a city and break into a house to feed (was full blown vampire, can't talk to the mage that way) then find someone else to kill because that one was apparently a quest NPC (wouldn't die).
Ritual done, I decided to focus on the Companions quest line. I've got my wolfness going on now
