In truth Joe Paterno feet was made of clay, that he desired to hide such a vicious sex crime on kids.
No one with a heart could sweep under the rug such a crime like this against kids. Calling the police is what we do when we want to stop a crime. Joe Paterno when push comes to shove chose his football coaching career over helping the helpless boy. MGO!

I feel bad for Joe. It hasn't been disclosed what he did or didn't know. Furthermore, nothing has been said on what was actually done to the kids. Joe said he would resign at the end of the season. Now his impressive coaching resume is ruined of this one incident.
Now if it was rape and he knew, then yes he deserves to be fired.

Watching the riots at Penn State, it is sad to think how many of those students really can't figure out right from wrong. I begin to worry more about out future. Then I read the posts from the rantards and almost 100% of them understand that this is not very complicated and know what the right thing to do is. Makes me realize we may be in good hands! Congrats to you guys for getting it right!

How the shite does Mike McQueary still have a job? Maybe I'll play Devil's Advocate give you that when Paterno was told it was vague or he didn't have details. But shite, you walk in on that? And you still have a job when Paterno & President are gone????
This!!!
the other comment I heard about McQueary is that he is a huge former college football player, why didn't he get in there and get the "alleged" 10 year old victim the hell out of the shower who was being raped by a 60 year old man.
McQ is as guilty as anyone in this situation

How can anyone be that fanatic for their football program? These rioters are all uninformed idiots "By Choice I might add". We have regressed as a society, these last couple days have dampened my enthusiasm for football to say the least. After at least 13 years of heartless, self serving & criminal atrocities by the Penn State athletic department the only thing that should be on their minds getting help to these young men and holding the responsible parties accountable. To hell with playing football, the whole athletic department should be being rounded up and arrested. They need to shut their season down.

My email to NCAA:
Hello,
My comments are brief. Where the NCAA can issue severe and lasting penalties to Penn State University - I hope you will.

Go read the grand jury report and watch how quickly your opinion changes. Joe Pa was told a 10 year old was being raped in the shower. Raped at 10 by a grown man and close friend of Joe. Joe is a piece of shite

Firing Paterno is the right thing along with firing everyone else involved in the incident, but it does make me very sad on many levels.
First and foremost I am sad for the victims and outraged that the school did nothing to stop the abuse.
On a completely different level, I am also personally sad to see someone I held in such high regard be shown to be so much less than what I believed.
Penn State has always been my second favorite team after LSU. Many members of my family attended the university and have donated millions of dollars to the school. One of the dorms on campus is named after my great-grandfather. When he was in his nineties and I was a teen I lived with him for several months to help care for him as he aged. We would watch games together and he instilled a deep respect for Paterno and PSU in me.
My great-grandfather would be beside himself with sorrow if he were alive. There is a part of me that is grieving for my great-grandfather today.

Him and anyone that help cover this up should be fired and his name and statues should be removed from the University....
and we should pray for all of them........they chose FB over the protection of these young boys......

I read the grand jury report also, it turns your stomach.
This guy surrounded himself with young boys on campus for the last decade! With even a hint that he did something in the past to one young boy JoePa had to step up and do more!
He had little boys with him at every Penn State home game and every bowl game, this guy was a sexual predator and every single person at Penn State turned a blind eye! JoePa and the entire Penn State admins deserve nothing but disgrace

frick JO Pa he knew about this since 02. Did not notify the police. I wonder how it would feel if it had been his Grandson?

quote:I believe in grace, and was willing to give an old man a pass last night, before I reviewed some details and realized he knew enough to have done more than just inform the A.D. Even legends and great people can do some pretty dumb, boneheaded, and even downright bad things. His silence convicts him. Sad for the kids, their families, Penn State, the teams, and even for JoeP. Firing him is just a small retribution, but it won't bring back that innocence that was stolen from the kids, and so viciously.

Easy to say what should have been done in the situation or what you would have done in the situation, but you weren't there.
You really don't know how you will react if you walk into a situation like that. You might be so traumatized you can't react at all and just want to leave hoping what you saw wasn't really happening.
