yes it is legal..how about this one....fair catch a punt or kick off and get a free kick for 3 points..line up and kick it off a tee

I dare say Les didn't know this. I also say look for him to do it sometime within the next two seasons.

Fair catch the other teams punt and you can kick a field goal uncontested off of a tee I believe it is legal in high school and NFL. Not sure if it is still legal in college.

Drop kick would be fun but i don't think wing would have any better range than our place kicker so it wouldn't make any since to do it.

Actually I think Flutie did it when he was with the Chargers.

I'm thinking the NFL changed the rules after Flutie's kick and it's not allowed any longer?

As for the Free Kick -- this, and the drop kick, are carryover's from rugby. In a rugby free kick, the opposing team must stand 10 meters away from the kicker and not oppose the kick. Until 1977, a goal (3 points) could be kicked from a "mark" (similar to a fair catch).

In rugby, a penalty kick or conversion can be taken as a drop kick.

Drop kicking a football is more difficult than a rugby ball due to the football being smaller and more pointed.

Fair catch kicks are not permitted at the collegiate level under NCAA rules.[1]

BOOOOOOOOOOOO

As an Aussie Rules Player, I'm sure he could do it.

As good a boot as he's got, no Aussie Rules kicks are from tees. They're all "punts" from ball-in-hand...no drop-kicks, either.
