The tough thing about playing anytime on Thanksgiving weekend, for a school situated in a true college town (as most SEC schools are) is getting fans to either stick around, or come back to town for a football game. If Missouri were to play Vanderbilt (the only currrent SEC team that doesn't have a traditional game on that weekend, as long as you consider Ark-LSU fitting that definition) on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, what kind of crowd do you think would show up? Students wouldn't be coming back to campus for that one, for sure. Even A&M would be tough, as you'd get absolutely no Aggie fans to travel to Columbia for a game on that weekend.

Now, on the other hand, if Missouri were to play Arkansas, I think the proximity would really help with the gate. Even if some Missouri fans don't show, the proximity will probably result in a large Arkansas turnout.

If A&M can't work a deal to get LSU on Thanksgiving, then I think we probably shouldn't play anyone that weekend, but that would hardly be ideal from a scheduling standpoint (don't want your open date coming at the end of the season).

As it sits now we will play Missouri 1 time every 12 years unless we go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Mizzou is in the middle of the entire state than should not have a problem getting back to campus for Thanksgiving.

Regardless when Mizzou and Arkansas play it will be a sell out by Arkansas. We dominated the away attendance at Ole Miss and Vanderbilt and had 10,000 at Bama.

We would do the same at TAMU if we didn't play in Dallas.

As I've stated the SEC wants Texas and TAMU to play Thanksgiving weekend like half the SEC does with out of conference games for the eyesballs which equal money.

TAMU and LSU should be a beginning conference game as it was played in the past. It's the same type setup Arkansas has with Alabama on the schedule first and LSU last.

Missouri needs to play Kansas again which is much closer (165 miles closer) than Arkansas and it will be good for the SEC that weekend.

Side Note: Little Rock, Ark is the same Distance to Baton Rouge as College Station. That is where the game is played while in Arkansas.

If A&M and Missouri are paired as cross divisional rivals, then yes, you're right, Missouri and Arkansas will only meet once every six years. But, I don't think the cross-over game has been settled quite yet. Arkansas and Missouri might still get paired up. There are pros and cons that will have to be hashed out.

If the league stays with an 8 game schedule, I think it's a foregone conclusion that A&M will want to move the Arkansas game back to campus, rather than have only 3 conference home game every other year--particularly once we complete our renovations to Kyle Field. The only way I see A&M being willing to keep the game at Jerrywold is if the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule, and the neutral site allows us both to play 4-4-1 every year.

check your math, you'll have them at home only once every 12 years, but you'll play them twice
