Win or Lose...this is what it's all about!

I really have the want for the Tigers to win this game. But I can't help but feel that, win or lose, this game is what makes being a Tiger fan so special. Being a fan since early childhood and going through the eras of Cholly Mac, Stoval, Arnsparger, Archer, Hallman, Dinardo, Saban, and now Miles, it just makes me appreciate having the program at this level and playing in a game of this magnitude. I so want to win, however I have to prepare myself that if they lose, I still need to be thankful and appreciative for being an LSU fan at this moment in time. I know many die-hard LSU fans that have passed on that would have relished the opportunity to be alive to see this game. I will be thinking of them each play. I do know that every member of this team will leave it all out on the field for this one. Win or Lose, this is what it's all about!

I grew up in Baton Rouge in the 70s and 80s. I watched Arnsbarger and then saw it start to fall apart. I started LSU in 1990. Throughout my college career I witnessed blowout after blowout. I have seen us lose to VANDY. I sat through a monsoon to watch us get our butts kicked by FSU. I remember being ecstatic to go to the Indy Bowl. I never thought I would live to see us matter. Now we are going for a third national championship in eight years. I love this team. I love this coach. I love this time. Our time is NOW.

The true LSU fans remember the dark days. I remember sitting in Jackson Ms watching Ole Miss whip us on a Halloween night in the early 90s. My future wife was amazed that a team that bad would have that many crazy fans at an away game.

I remember how exciting it was when Dinardo replaced Hallman. We all thought that this was it, we are on our way to the top!!

I was also at the Ole Miss halloween game in Jackson. I was 10 years old, and this was my second LSU game to attend in person. 32-0 was the score I think. It makes you really appreciate what we have as tiger fans now.

I doubt this is what you will be thinking of during each play.

teeMike: You are the man. You and I must be about the same age.
My best friend at LSU, actually he was more like the brother that I never had, died a few years ago. His funeral was on my birthday. What I would give to have him back to see this game.
Kick some arse Tigers.

I will never forget the monsoon game with FSU. I was very young but distinctively remember it and going with my dad. Good times.

I with you brother, I know that my Mom and some Aunts and Uncles will be looking down from Heaven rooting the Tigers on to victory.

We may have lost that game 27-16 or something like that, but Todd Kinchen burned Terrell Buckley on a Hitch-n-GO that made it 7-0 Tigahs and was worth the trip up I-10 and the rainstorm.

I too sat through that monsoon FSU game, and even though we lost, I was damn proud to be sitting there watching my Tigers, and would not trade those moments I have spent in Tiger Stadium for anything. I now live in Arizona, and football is not the same here. I am proud to drive around Mesa everyday with my purple and gold LSU flags flying high!!! Geaux Tigers! Beat Bama!!!

Say what you will - Dinardo coached a 10-win season, and that was a great slogan and an even better game.

dinardo could have been a great coach; if only he could recognize good assistant coaches (or fire the bad ones). thru all the coaching turmoil after mac left i learned one thing; LSU is in charge. a lot of head football coaches get "bigger than the program". bowden damn near destroyed FSU because of his ego.
