This is the artwork by William Boyd, used in the 1936 Gumbo. This is the original piece. I got it from the estate sale of a man who sat on the Gumbo staff in the 30's.

For those of you who don't know, William Boyd is the person the UNLV's Law School is named after

It's named after Paul M. Hebert, not William Boyd

However, there is a connection between UNLV law and LSU law.

The current Dean of the UNLV Law School, John Valery White, came from . . . the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he was the J. Dawson Gasquet Memorial Professor of Law.

I just contacted LSU Hill Memorial to find out exactly who the artist is. Is it the same as UNLV and/or related to Thomas/David.

They have a book in their special collections by an author named Wm Boyd.
