I finally watched it last night. I liked it, although I agree that it never got into the flow. It had a lot of formulaic chickiness, but was Apatow enough to be worth a watch. A bit like Funny People in that you couldn't exactly determine the tone of the movie (comedy? dramedy?)
I thought Wiig was by far the best part of the movie. It would have totally collapsed without her. The airplane scene was the best.
I also am stunned that I like the fat chick overall (not just in this). She actually is pretty funny.
I don't understand all the people saying Wiig was such a bitch. The other chick stole her best friend! - even going so far as to steal her Paris idea after bad-mouthing it to all the other bridesmaids. It's true that she was kind of shitty to the cop, but I think she had a right to at least be a bit annoyed when he pulled out all that baking equipment.
Also, she got unnecessarily blamed for them getting food poisoning.
I thought she was a flawed character who was still likeable.
I agree, JT. For those who think a movie needs to be EITHER a comedy or a drama, I don't know why you think that. I'm perfectly fine with a "dramedy". It's closer to real life, to me. My days ebb and flow with laughter and sadness, smiles and tears, all the time.

Agree. I think that such movies represent a step forward artistically.

Thought it was ok. I don't really enjoy comedies where the main character can't get anything right and screws everything up. A la, Meet the Parents.
