Former Tiger Mickey Mangham. He passed last September. I can't believe it's already been a year.

My dad, missed the 03 and 07 championships as well as the Saints Super bowl win. Had LSU tickets since '56 and Saints tickets from day 1, the Saints honored original ticket holders in 2001 and he got to go on the field before a game.

My dad.
He bought season tickets in 1955 a couple years after the south endzone was built. He sat through them all with me except when he stayed at the house and let my mom drive me up. He said we would get blown out in 1997 when we played Florida and watched it on TV. I still sit in that same seat today.
He passed on just after the terrible season of 1998. He died before Tiger football really turned around.
I miss him terribly. He wasn't the greatest husband, but he loved me to pieces. And he loved his Tigers. I still shed a tear during the alma mater before every home game as we always sang it together.
Daddy, help us bring one home.

I lost both my mom and my dad last year. I have been thinking about them all season, because it has seemed like this is setting up to be such a special year and I feel like they are looking down and cheering for the Tigers.
One funny thing---in the days before smartphones, if I would be traveling and away from a TV or radio, I would call my elderly Dad to see if LSU was winning and what the score was. To tease me, he would always tell me they were losing and make up a fictitious score. I would have to say "Put Momma on the phone" because she was a devout Baptist who couldn't tell a lie, if only for a minute. She would immediately tell me what the real score was and we would always have a good laugh about it.
Here's to Herman and Sunshine and any heavenly help they can send the Tigers' way on Saturday!

I'll add my Grandparents, my Uncle D.G. and my cousin Caroline.. who was the LSU librarian for 40 years. All are angels now with purple and gold wings! :geauxtigers:

My dad and my brother. My father died almost 11 years ago. I remember him having a conversation with my cousin during his last Christmas (Dec. 2000). He believed Saban was a good coach and would turn our program around, but he didn't think he would ever live to see The Tigers win another National Championship. It amazes me, but yet breaks my heart that I have had the opportunity to witness two and hopefully a few more.

To former LSU basketball player Duane "Disco D" DeArmond. Noone could ask for a better friend or tiger fan.
I spoke to him a few days before he passed away and made him promise me two things. First, to say hello to my deceased sister whenever he got to heaven. He said "yes". The second was to see to it that LSU would win the BCS national championship every other year. He paused and said "Well we'll have to see about that one."
RIP Big D. I know you'll be watching.

such a great thread...has me in tears...
and my uncle would've absolutely loved this season. he passed away sometime in 2004. he also seriously dug the saints, and never got to be a part of the brees era...after winning the nfc championship and the super bowl, my gramps, dad, me, and a few others in the family visited his grave and left a bottle of his favorite beer on his grave

My Mom died the Tuesday before the UF game in 97' and I give her full credit for that win. We buried her that Saturday then got together at my brothers house to watch the best victory I ever could have wished for. I wish she was alive today and able to have experienced this great time in LSU football. I would watch the games with her and she would always worry that her beloved Tigers would lose when thing didn't go just right even in blow-outs. She hated to see them go down, but her loyalty could not be questioned.

Mom. She's been gone for 16 years. She was a huge tiger fan.

My Dad for sure. He was a Wisconsin transplant who lived in LA for 45 years and loved LSU football. Our family lost him July of last year, and I know he would be lovin' this.

My grandparents. Good friends Pete and Joel, too. No better Tigers than these folks.

My dad died Oct. 26, 1986. So hes been gone for 25 years. He was more a fan of college football than pro, and that has rubbed off on me, as I am the same way. Back in his day, before ESPN, he listened to games on the radio with John Ferguson. I remember listening to the LSU/ Notre Dame in 1970 with him while we painted our garage. I was 12 years old.
