1. The LHN has made Texas' competitors in the Big 12 more rich...before the LHN fiasco, 1st and 2nd tier TV money was not equally shared. Texas, and the schools shown most on TV, got a greater share of it. Now all the schools are sharing in it equally.

Doesnt' matter. UT will always have big money.

2. Another Texas school was added to the Big 12. TCU is now a little more relevant in the eyes of recruits

About as much as Texas Tech IMO. TCU will be playing a harder schedule but TCU is like adding a school some where in between Texas Tech and Baylor.

3. The SEC is now in Texas...who knows how that will help Texas A&M or other SEC schools, but it probably wasn't the preferred scenario for UT. SEC is favored to win its 6th straight BCS title...that fact is not lost on recruits.

This. It opens more doors for the SEC to come to Texas. However, can A&M keep the upper tier recruits interested in the SEC rather than letting some of them go to a LSU now? Would Shepard, Toliver, Loston, and those type stay in-state now? I wouldn't underestimate Texas pride.

Loston had the same problem Michael Bishop did. He couldn't pass the TAKS, so he went to another state to graduate.

I think it does matter. Money is driving college athletics...more money means better facilities and the ability to pay coaches better. These smaller schools in the Big 12 will now receive more money per year than they did before all this sillyness started. It won't hurt Texas, but it certainly helps everyone else who had smaller shares of the pie.

Disagree...Texas Tech is in no-mans land in West Texas...not a recruiting hot bed...whereas TCU is in a huge metro area...studs in Dallas can go "out of town" for college, but still be in the metroplex and compete in the Big 12.
