NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two local referees explain just what all goes into refereeing a SEC game in front of thousands of fans.

Nashville
native Tom Ritter has been a SEC ref for 11 seasons.

He told Nashville's News 2 in his time on the field he has found one rule to be true.

"Well the coach that's the hardest to work for is the one that's behind, the coach that's the easiest to work for is the one that's winning," he said.

The refs also said they have been booed by thousands of fans.

"When something happens, if we do something they don't think is right, yes, we get booed, but they're fair," Ritter said
.

Ritter is a business man who lives in Franklin, TN. He went to BGA HS in Franklin.

Not sure about college.

The refs work FOR the coaches? Interesting choice of words there.
