Like LAST YEAR when South Carolina knocked them off their high but brittle horse?

they were a better team last year. they are getting WAY more credit than they have garnered at this point in the year. They are getting the acclaim because its bama, and saban.

That was just media hype. We replaced 10 members of our defense. Talent is no substitute for experience in a Nick Saban defense.

If you think last years team is better than this years...you are sadly mistaken.

Better playmakers in 10, but better team in 11.

Agree...I am not sure how our fans can think last year's team was better. Offense might be a tad less, but the defense is MUCH better.

Offensively how is it any better? Aside from a marginally improved OL? You lost your best WR in years in Jones, senior QB in McElroy, and Ingram.

Yes I know you have TR, but you lost depth. How in the hell is your passing game better with McCarron? You can't sell me on that shite.

Defensively the LB's are most certainly better. But DL and DB's? Same guys minus Dareus on the DL. Chapman (DT) is very stout, but as a whole I don't see how it's any different.

i am not buying this. i understand their qb is not as experienced and their wr corps is not as good w/o julio jones but their OL and their defense is better imo. they have not played a defense as good as lsu's nor have they faced an offense as balanced as lsu's. conversely, we have not faced a defense as good as bama's and we have not faced an OL as good as theirs. i suspect battles will be won and lost by all of the above units and this game could very come down to turnovers or special teams. it should be epic. i think we are a better overall team and barring unusual events (turnovers at the wrong time, bad breaks like dropped passes at the wrong time or penalty calls) we should squeek by with a W.

One of the dumbest comments I've read. You really think that experience making a difference is exclusive to All Mighty Saban's defense?

I'm not worried about selling you on anything. This D is so much better than last years. Our O is just as good IMO.

I'll give you that the defense is better (exp improves a lot)

But offensively no way. You don't lose guys like you lost and step up. There is always a down swing. Let alone you haven't faced a team with a pulse yet (hence the gaudy defensive #'s)

You apparently know little about Bama. The OL is much improved. Our QB has been every bit as capable as McElroy, and is much more talented. Richardson has had more production than Ingram at the same point in the season, even compared to his Heisman season, and has 2 capable backups. We have the SAME DB's, only more experienced, and in Menzie's case healthier since he was coming off an Achilles injury. The DL is NOT the same guys, with 2 Juco transfers that have been MUCH better at plugging the middle.

So basically, you are wrong in pretty much everything you said.

I agree. I'm not saying it isn't, but he acts like Saban's defense is the only one to benefit from experience

just because you say it makes it so I guess?

You won't convince me of anything. I've watched Bama games. Your defensive #'s are extremely inflated due to the absolute dead beat teams you have played. Nothing I said is wrong, it's just my opinion.

MY OPINION is that Bama is not as good as advertised. We'll find out in a week.

LSU and Bama are not built to be pass happy teams. Neither team needs a Heisman type QB to win. Both teams have great running games and utilize a manager type QB: one that makes defenses pay when stacking the box to cheat up on the run, doesn't turn the ball over, and makes plays when he has to. While many agree that Lee has been better at this (only 1 INT), it doesn't mean that AJ is light years worse than McElroy. Both teams are built to grind it out in the trenches, keep the ball away from the other team, and play smart, fast, and aggressive defense.
