LSU history buffs: Have we ever worn purple helmets?

I think this is as close as we've gotten:

They had purple helmets made or a purple helmet prototype for the tulane game, but wore white. IIRC the purple helmet(s) were auctioned.

Never had purple helmets. Wouldn't look too bad though, judging bye the mockups people just posted.

Yeah, that jersey doesn't work with the yellow helmet.
I do wish that we added a purple helmet to our arsenal to mix it up. Along with a helmet very similar to these past procombat helmets. Then maybe they could bring back the gold jerseys. It wouldn't look awful with a white helmet imo.
ETA:
Actually, that doesn't look quite right either. Maybe if it were a more mellow yellow.
