I have lived in bham for 6 years. Bamafan is bold, passionate, and at times irrational. I fly my PnG, but I do so knowing they will give me the hairy eye in public places and that impromptu conversations will be started by total strangers. They love giving me the RTR. Bamafan has never gotten violent with me. My son had some trouble at school a few years back, and my wife told him he could not wear LSU gear to school, but other than that it's been what I expected.

Had fun in college there back in 90s Dinardo days. Sat in Bamas student section wearing P&G and we beat them. Course we had friends at Bama to back us up, but it was a kick in the arse. You couldn't pay me now to sit there and do that shite again. Here's to LSU fans making the trip which I hope theres a ton for support.

If somebody is trying to fight you, all you have to do is look them in the eye and immediately vomit all over yourself. Generally they no longer want to fight you at that point. Works every time.

For those that think they are a badass...be sure to bring enough extra money with you to get bailed out of jail... the attitude of the gumps this year is off the charts,..if they lose, which I think they will...there is no telling what will happen...

Maybe because it was after dark, like I said every fan base has its morons. These guys may not have even lived in Bham, they looked like hillbillies, their truck was missing the front bumper and grill.

the main problem ive had with gumps are hurricane katrina crap they would yell at me. That shouldnt be the case after the tornados this year though.

Went there in 09 and we went to set up our tent on the friday afternoon, like we always did wearing our P&G proudly, and we got the normal "Roll Tide" stuff from students, but i will never forget we were walking back to the truck and and there was an older couple,(late 70s,early 80s) walking by wearing that god awful crimson, and we politely said hello, and the old man flipped out saying "F*ck LSU and go back to Louisiana, dumb coonasses" and the old lady just flipped us off

I think Bama fans would be wise enough to realise that LSU fans would retaliate next year. Georgia mistreated LSU fans back in 2001 or 2002. The following year LSU fans were throwing stuff at UGA fans and knocked one off his motorcycle etc.

I got ran off the road in Mobile the day after the '09 game by some gumps in a huge pickup. My car had a couple LSU stickers on the back end and they started cursing me out and got alongside of me and forced me into someone's yard.

Was in Ttown in 07 and I have to say, it was actually nice. We tailgated near the quad all day, and had a pretty good interaction with the fans. No real issues leading up to the game. A couple of problems during the game, but it certainly wasnt only because of Gumps, our group was partially to blame. After we won, the gumps wouldnt even acknowledge us, must less talk shite. They just wanted us gone.
