Given the changes going on it's hard to pick a #2 right now, but I do know that the Big 12 -+-+-+-+-+-+ isn't it. Maybe TCU isn't a flash in the pan and WVU is a solid addition, but until someone beats the SEC in the game it's all pretty much moot.

If Arkansas really is the 3rd worst academic school in the SEC then I think the conference is doing alright.

West Virginia is worse than Texas Tech academically...who is worse than Moo State.

Arkansas is still better than either Oklahoma State or Kansas State.

I really think that West Virginia's appeal in markets outside of West Virginia, most notably Pittsburgh and Washington DC, has been underrated and overlooked in this process.

Here in DC, if you had to rely on local media for your college sports information, you'd barely know the SEC even exists. Whatever conference WVU is in will get covered here and included on the local cable sports packages, have syndicated stations broadcasting their games, etc., particularly if the Big East falls apart. It's sad to see that the Big XII will be that conference, and not the SEC.

People only look at the numbers that back their own positions. "Objective" isn't a word in the vocabulary of someone with an agenda.

The fact that they are even ranked makes those lists completely worthless. Unless having house parties in your mom's basement is what these rankings are based off of.
