Texas might also see that propping up another BCS school in Louisiana could work to reduce the dominanat recruiting LSU has had over the last decade.
Get some recurits from LSU to Tulane.
Get some play time in Louisiana and steal some for Tx.

I don't think Tulane would EVER take a recruit away from us.

This is the Shorthorns' motive, no doubt.

Would it send LSU back to the days of Hallman? Hell no.

Would it be an aggravation for LSU? Yes.

The Weenies are thrilled to be Texas's little whore in the scenario.

I guess I can't blame them; if my program was in as bad a shape as theirs, I'd suck off whomever I had to for a lifeline.

I personally think Toolame athletics is in such bad shape that Texas could never sell them to the Big 12, even with the stroke the Shorthorns have.

But I don't mind saying, I don't want any chance--no matter how remote--of Texas and OU playing in NOLA every other year and stealing an occasional LSU Louisiana bluechipper.

There is room for only one AQ program in Louisiana and that is LSU.

The Weenies have screwed their football program up for the last sixty years.

Let them head where they belong--the Sun Belt, the Southland or oblivion, any one is fine with me.
