As long as WVU anchors the BE it will be an AQ conference. Just because WVU had 3 down years under Stew, will not affect WVU going forward. It has 3 more years to rebuild its resume from a top 25 team, to a top 10 team.

Quoting:

As far as strength of the football members is concerned, Boise State would seem a must-have for the league. If the Broncos, who are currently No. 5 in the AP poll, became members, it would give the league at least two perennial Top 25 programs. West Virginia has been ranked in the AP Top 25 at some point every season since 2002 and in 20 of the last 24 seasons. Boise State has been ranked every season since 2002, including 48 weeks in the Top 10.

One school does not validate an entire conference and that one school isn't viewed as a traditional powerhouse except for WVU fans.

WVU doesn't fit into that conference. It's the only thing the B.E. has had going for it in football for a long time.

The mwc and conf usa will play an interleague championship. Maybe with the mac mixed in and the bid should go to them.
