This is the 3rd report I have read on this, but the first from a reputable source. CBS Sports is reporting that Mizzou as of now does not have enough vote from the SEC to be accepted.

LINK

Reports also that Texas has conceded on high school atheletics not being shown on the LHN, and now with the addition of TCU, I see Mizzou staying in the Big XII as the most likely scenario.

Mizzou's hold up is not that they are mizzou, its the potential loss of certain rivalry games teams find important.

basically AU and Bama are showing their arse again.

We can only hope. May have to go to a Mizzou board and watch the carnage

Let's assume it is Auburn and/or Bama holding up adding MU (has to be several schools if they can't get to 9)

If they are holding out for a better option they should have someone else in mind (e.g. a FSU or whatever) that can be gotten - because once you add A&M you have to realize at some point that you have to get to 14 or 16 eventually

The problem with scheduling isn't MU - it is anyone you add after having 12 teams

With this move it looks more like OU, OK St and Mizz to SEC for 16. TCU is out of the running.

a guest (sportswriter, not fan) on the TB show claimed that mizzou had a "majority" but not 9.
so thats either 7 or 8 schools in favor. i doubt aTm gets a vote yet and vandy probably abstained since they do not want to expand at all.

What? No way.

Would lov eit, but I don't think OU is in play for the SEC.

FWIW, it was reported somewhere that AU was for it so that we could move East, and UA was against it because it would kill the UT game.

I'd expect UA, UT, Vandy, and one other to be the ones blocking it

MU already stated yesterday they were leaving.

TCU just waters down the B12 as would SMU.

So a move that looked like all but certain when the Mizzou Board of Curators voted to explore their options Tuesday now has another clear, visible hurdle in front of it. (At minimum, the SEC's plans for a 13-team 2012 season look that much closer to being set in stone.) The guess here remains that in the end, the allure of Missouri's Kansas City/St. Louis television markets will be too much for Mike Slive and the SEC to ignore (especially with the league angling for a new TV contract), and that the SEC's stability and overflowing coffers will be too much for even the Big Ten-focused Missouri officials to turn down.

From the other "rumors" I heard the no votes where Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Vandy. They have 8 of the 12, aTm has no say on it.

All but Vandy (who just doesnt want to expand) says they want a team from the east.

Florida

UF didnt vote no imo. They want out of the permanent game with LSU just as much as LSU does. 14th team coming from the west helps make that happen

As the article said, why would the SEC want a team that WILL BOLT the moment the BIG TEN looks its way?

That's like marrying Julie because her Daddy's a little richer than Sarah, but you know damn well that Julie really wants to be with some guy named Tucker and is just marrying you because Tucker isn't interested right now.

this is nonsense.

One of A&M's pay sites is saying that Mizzou chatter is all from Missouri and not so much from SEC, and predicts that the SEC will have a one year life as a 13 member league and then add a team from the Eastern seaboard after next year.

The SEC has no buyout fee and the Big 10 makes a comparable amount of money to the SEC

One would think that this would change, but it may not actually be needed. Probably about as necessary as K Fed asking Britney Spears for a pre-nup.

Then just throw Mizzou in the east.

ya not geographically correct, but keep the real rivalries alive first
