Just a sympathetic selloff with cyclicals and autos?

Trading around $21. has $18/share in cash.

It's around 2X EBITDA right now. Seems cheap for no reason. All the recent news has been highly positive - including 20% growth in September.

Cash is cash. Who cares where it came from as long as it's legal.

They made an announcement not too long ago that they will be closing plants- Shreveport is one of them.

Not the only decently performing company that has taken a hit recently.

There was talk of being able to save it, but in the last week the reports weren't looking great. Guess that's what I meant.

This should be a good thing.

Maybe it has something to do with the recent labor agreement GM reached with the UAW. Investors may fear that future profits will be impaired by increased labor costs.

The deal announced between Ford and the UAW will increase the value of the compensation and benefits for the majority of Ford's union employees to $58 per hour. That is $120,640 per year for anyone who does not work a single hour of overtime. Pretty good gig for unskilled labor.

If plants are being closed maybe expenses go up.

my GUESS...people are worried about a large gov't sell of of shares.

However, I also GUESS, the reason GM is hoarding cash is to buy these shares up before that happens / when that happens.
