Thanks everyone for all the advice. Having trouble posting to individual posts for some reason.
Not SVP, but was there at the same time.
A buddy of mine from College Park do an annual road trip, usually to an SEC game when the Terps aren't at home.....
Last few years have been to Ole Miss, the grove was great, however, not invited to many tailgates...
Texas, Austin was great, however, tailgating was poor, definitely not SEC quality....
Decided this year we would just go to the ultimate college football scene out there...LSU.

One place to stay away from is the Coates Hall Bathrooms you never know if or when David Pollack is lurking.

Make sure you check out the baseball stadium before you leave town. I always recommend grabbing a Louie's seafood omelet at some point as well.

If you're staying in BR Friday night, make reservations at Stroube's. It's downtown and near some pretty good bars for a fun, but relaxing night.
It's as fine of a representation of classic Louisiana dishes as you'll find in BR. Good cocktails, too.
Stroubes
The Chimes is a good place to grab a few beers as well, and the food is decent. Don't go to walk ons. Sunday brunch at the Chimes is pretty good for recovery food.

Go to Parrain's over Mike Anderson's, though, if you want a better version of the same type of fare. It's near campus on Perkins Rd.
Parrains

i agree. pahrrains is awesome (especially for brunch). louisiana lagniappe is the best though if you want to spend a little cash. if you like sushi and want to get a great view of downtown and the city from a rooftop view go to tsunami downtown. its a badass place.
Depending on how old you are and if you like to party - downtown is a good area if you are in your mid -20s or older. Tigerland if you are still in college.

Definitely better than Parrains if he's not looking for super casual. But Parrains is definitely better than Mike Andersons these days.

Chimes then Varsity or bars on Third Street in downtown BR on Friday night.
All day at LSU for tailgating and game on Saturday. (if you post your email, I'll give you directions to our tailgate for Saturday. Cooking alligator sauce picante)
Ruffino's Saturday night.
Breakfast at Louie's or La Lou on Sunday.
Plan return trip to BR on Sunday night.

Get some Florida colors, hat, shirts, jorts. You want have to spend a dime. Brush up on your Florida players, coaches, and schedule. And also you might hit up past teams, champions and the like. Tell everyone your related to Spurrier.

-Get there early like 8:00 am
-Visit mike the tiger and his badass millionaire habitat
-Dont miss the band and team come down the hill
-Get in your seats at least 30 minutes prior to kickoff for the band and pregame salute
-Chimes night before -great beeer selection and good la cuisine, ruffino after game not a bad choice but far from stadium, La lou for breakfast great idea
-stop in at touchdown village
-visit lsu hall of fame
--Don't be afraid to up to people tailgates and introduce yourself LSU fans are not as bad as the rep goes, tailgating will be everywhere and we welcome visitors to our tailgates, take some good natured ribbing then ask where is the beer and etoufee, jambalaya,Andouille, boudin, crawfish and gator meat.
-Might be worth going to french quarter if you have time and never been
-check out the new Shaq statue, its huge and pretty sweet
