No way the SEC skips the SECCG for one year, so I guess there'll be 7 in the West, and 6 in the East in 2012?

Still 8 conference games? How would the East vs. West matchups work with a 7-6 imbalance?

the west would lose a non-conference opponent... I assume.

Hopefully the SEC East will make it symmetrical with another team in a big market. Virginia Tech, can you hear me? Would be a perfect fit for the SEC. VT is stuck with ties to UVA and ACC buyout, but it would truly complete the SEC if they are going to 14.

So we pick up A$M while the SECE continues to schedule Furman and the Citadel?

There are 18 cross division games every year (6 teams x 3 games) which means 3 of the 7 West teams will only play 2 cross division games to make tnat happen. Which means some teams will lose their cross divsion rivalry game and it wont be Alabama or Auburn. Their rivalries are too ingrained.

Sorry. We'll be sure to schedule Northwestern State and WKU from now on.

It is almost impossible to balance a 13 team, 2 division conference...

West Teams play (6 division games)
East Teams play (5 Division Games)
-------------------------------------------
Now, if EACH west team played 2 east Teams to get to 8 total games (2*7=14 games) Then each east team would play only 2 (2*6 = 12 games) and TWO east teams play 3 games to make it even. In my best KI, it does not add up..
----------------------------------------------
Lets go to 3 non-division games and go to 9 games...

West would play 3 games (3*7 = 21), then 3 for each east team (3*8 = 24), so that does not add up.

This is what will happen. All permanent cross division rivals will be dropped except for Alabama-Auburn and Auburn-Georgia. Everyone will else will play the other 2 east teams they would have played in the rotation.
