I keep hearing its their biggest game in history. Surely such a storied program as West Virginia has played some bigger games.

WVU fans, what do you think?

When you can't remember last weekend because of your meth addiction, every game is the biggest one.

We aren't considering this our biggest game. You do the math. Or the meth, if you prefer.

well like said before Pitt was and should be their biggest game of recent times. If they would have won that they were going to the NC game.

walking out of the Georgia Dome, happy about the win but sad thinking we werent going to the NC. Then hearing the commotion at Jock and Jills and seeing OU and Pitt winning...... It turned into a glorious night.

I guess I mean more in terms of hype and anticipation. I would bet that their fan base thought they had a cakewalk going against a 4-7 Pitt team.

Regular season:

WVU beats #3 Virginia Tech, 2003, 28-7
WVU loses #1 Ohio State, 1998, 34-17
#9 WVU beats #4 Miami FL, 1993, 17-14
WVU loses #1 Miami FL, 1986, 58-14
#20 WVU beats #4 Boston College, 1984, 21-20

I edited this list. There were a few #1's in there we played (and lost)... I was being lazy.

If you look at non-regular season wins, my recent favorites were:

#9 WVU beats #3 Oklahoma, 2008 Fiesta Bowl, 48-28
#11 WVU beats #8 Georgia, 2006 Sugar Bowl, 38-35

how many times have ya'll been ranked against a top 3 team and lost? no flame attempt, but those wins are just one side of the story.

The biggest part of the nightmare was that our coach was in secret dealings with Michigan at the time, and didn't even bother to get our team prepared for the game.

It was a total nightmare, and it was wrong.
