fyi - i know all of this is rumor based, so take this for what it is worth:

LINK

Per Mike Casazza...SEC says no to WVU... Reply
Take it for what its worth...I have a friend in Morgantown who is good friends with Casazza...says no deal with SEC...

He confirms the reports earlier today.

"Wake Forest just refused to lose...but WVU didn't care and decided to win anyway..." Remark made following WVU's win over Wake in the NCAA Tournament

Just so I understand, your saying you heard it from a friend who is close acquaintances with someone in the know about the goings on in side of the SEC, but said acquaintance in NOT in the SEC.

Rumors are rumors until they are proven, disproven or just go away. I would be disappointed if this one is true; was looking forward to WVU coming on board.

They have had a competitive football program. I think they would make a good addition as well.

The SEC is probably waiting to see what the Pac 12 does. If the Pac 12 takes Mizzou along with the OSU/Oklahoma State deal then the SEC takes WVU. But if the Pac 12 takes Texas instead, I think the SEC will go after Mizzou IF Mizzou don't apply for the BIG again.

either of these would be great. The SEC has the $$$ to pay their $20 million exit fees.

i am still hoping the SEC makes a power play and goes after FSU, Clemson, Va Tech or NC State....we are the best conference in the nation and should be very, very selective in who we admit as members. I have found outkickthecoverage has some great articles about who/how/why the SEC expands.

Tiger Perry gets it. SEC gets FSU and A/M. Acc recovers with USF. Then SEC takes NC stae and don't laugh Rice my suprize supper pick for the academics out their finish off the SEC. Then WVU goes to the acc. JMO

We just sent in paperwork yesterday. We're not gonna be denied that quickly. This is a Cincinnati blog that's reporting this and it's not being reported anywhere else. They're just jealous and mad that they're stuck in the Big East.

IF the rumors happened to be true, I think its very likely that the SEC has someone better lined up.

VT and FSU are FAR better options to me than WVU.

is this for sure 100% factual? because if it is, i highly doubt wvu has been told "no". i doubt anyone sends in the paperwork without being already told "yes", the paperwork is a formality.

I hope WV ends up in sec. I enjoy watching them play football, and their men's bb coach is awesome.
