They were mentioned heavily in the last go around of expansion because your commish said he would like to pick up a school in the south for recruiting purposes.

their options are probably add 1 team or add 3 teams

Their dream scenario would be to add Notre Dame, Texas, and Missouri

That would be enormous value but the television deals (ND and LHN) would be a nightmare to negotiate with all of the involved parties and demands

All I know is that higher ups at Mizzou said they have a place to go if the Big 12 splits but wouldn't mention any conferences. I'm thinking the BIG or SEC will snatch them up. Looks more and more like The Pac 16 will make a move, ACC already making moves. I have a feeling BIG will make the next move and go after Mizzou.

Mizzou, KU, UConn and Notre Dame.

But then, I'm not an Ohio State fan.

I'd go Notre Dame, Maryland, Oklahoma/Texas and Missouri.

It would be great for basketball to add Maryland, Duke and UNC plus Notre Dame.

There was a NYT article that said OU & Okie State approached the Big 10 about preliminary talks and were shot down because of academics. OU went back by themselves and were shot down again.

Big Ten is awfully quiet.....just like the ACC was before pulling a stunner. A&M breaking up the Texas cluster takes away the "Tech problem"......I still think Texas to the Big 10.

If the Big Ten added Texas, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Maryland I'd be very happy. Academically and athletically.

What are your thoughts on Texas and equal revenue sharing? That seems to be their big sticking point.

VABuckeye,

This would be great; however, I think Rutgers will end in the ACC and Missouri would be in place of Rutgers in your scenario.

The pitch Texas is making to conferences is that it is more than willing to share 1st and 2nd tier conf tv revenue equally and wants to keep the LHN as is for its 3rd tier rights.

The university president and regents really want the many millions the LHN is set to provide the academic side of the university in the coming years. As much as I don't want to see it, I think they will take Texas independent or stay in a junk Big 12 with a bunch of jabronis before they abandon the LHN concept.
